  1. I doubt Princess would answer that question in advance. Since a B2B is not two 'legs' of a single booking I'd say somebody who presents with Covid for the second cruise might expect not to be allowed to board the ship i.e. they will be put off.
  2. Yes... a poor time to throw in that unnecessary superlative.
  3. You've misinterpreted the Canadian credit card 'workings' a bit. Generally, our cards work pretty much anywhere without a problem. Unfortunately, there are instances where readers simply won't recognize the chip. I've had this happen with a Master Card at a hotel in Italy, but my Visa was fine. The Master Card workex fine at the restaurant next to the hotel. It's mostly about avoiding the potential aggravation of having a perfectly good credit card in your hand that simply won't shake hands with a reader.
  4. Are your cards chip enabled? I don't believe there are many main stream Canadian-issued credit cards remaining that do not have a chip in them; I have heard (never seen!) that there are still US cards that don't have chips. Even with my chipped card, I have had some difficulties outside of Canada with readers (not often) and simply don't want to run the risk of that happening with the first train I try to take.
  5. We purchased two Oyster Cards for our visit to London in August. We opted to have them mailed to us and they were delivered in less than one week. I wasn't too concerned about foreign transaction fees; I just want to hit the ground running in LGW without having to purchase or pick up the cards OR discover that my credit card simply doesn't work with the readers.
  6. Halong Bay, may say Ha Long.
  7. You ought to pop over to this thread....
  8. The policy doesn't address what people can/should wear to the dining room other than, maybe, no public nudity.
  9. My preference is well forward of midship. I'm not concerned about ship movement, I prefer to be away from potential vibration from engines, shafts and propellers. This isn't likely to be an issue on most of today's cruise ships... it's a hangover from a long-ago occupation.
  10. No. ETIAS is for the European Union.
  11. Additionally, at least for my Cruise Critic activities, I've decided to do away with uncertainty.
  12. I'm partial to evidence that supports my foredrawn conclusions.
  13. I've no idea what you're talking about and, apparently, totally missed/misunderstood what others have been trying to tell me.
  14. I'd rather not take the TA off-ramp discussion. Just want to learn about Oceania for now.
  15. I can book the cruise online without airfare. What I cannot do is choose none of the three options (OBC, Excursions, Drinks); I have to pick one. I'm happy with that and won't be calling Oceania or using a TA... I'll take the OBC and go from there.
  16. Yes indeed. The only fare option I have for the cruise I'm interested is O-Life with the choice of one of the three options. Since I get bottled water, coffee, tea and soft drinks as part of the cruise fare, I'm thinking I'll just take the 400 USD per person onboard credit. One good thing with never having booked with Oceania previously is that I can make my decision in blissful ignorance of what used to be.
  17. Not showing 'cruise only' on the website I'm looking at, which provides fares in Canadian prices.
  18. Since I've never booked with Oceania before, I don't have a history to compare what is now on offer and what used-to-be. Currently, it seems I can book a cabin, choose whether to take the air fare option (if I say 'no thanks', the total fare is reduced 1,500 CAD per person) and am then given the option to choose one of 1. 400USD per person OBC, or 2. four shore excursions per person, or 3. basic drinks package. We aren't alcohol drinkers and would prefer to take the OBC option if Oceania offers a non-alcohol (water, coffe, tea, soft drinks) package we could purchase onboard. Is this possible?
  19. I'm looking at the Miami to Bridgetown, 21 Dec - 4 Jan on Sirena. We enjoy Christmas and New Years onboard a cruise ship. I'd sort of like something outside the Caribbean but my Commanding Officer wants to try the cruise line before we venture further afield (asea).
  20. That would sort of be me except I haven't commented on the Oceania product because I don't understand it. I'm a Princess and Celebrity cruiser but am examining Oceania for December, 2024. Other than paying about double (per person per day) for what seems to be a somewhat nicer veranda cabin I'm having a bit of a tough time identifying the additional value I may be purchasing. Of course, this may be my latent parsimony at work but I'm open to educating myself.
  21. I'd suggest an additional option d. empower your son to figure this out at his own expense without causing you any inconvenience.
  22. Officially, I don't believe there are any weight limits. However, if you look through their FAQs and other online statements, there is an inference that they'd expect the maximum weight to reflect that of typical air carriers' rules - 50 lb/23 kg.
  23. Additional tipping not expected.... that's funny!!
