  1. You'll need some sort lf 'Cancel for Any Reason' insurance. Cruise lines have pretty much thrown the doors wide open to anybody wishing to cruise with few restrictions. I'm sure you're well aware of this and if the possibility of infection is stressing you considerably, I'd say you ought to reconsider your vacation choice.
  2. I don't need a listing... I'm a Celebrity and Princess cruiser. That likely says something about my onboard cruising and preferences! I should add that I use the apps each puts out so it's not like I'm not willing to take roller-coaster like rides.
  3. Just a guess... no need for CBP pre-clearance prior to embarkation.
  4. No rides on Celebrity or Princess. Or, do you mean the ship and shore excursions?
  5. Probably have better luck with Ptrans Pterodactyl Airlines getting to/from Europe.
  6. I'd go on the United site to see what you can get. Looks like $1,657 for PHX - FCO, VCE - PHX is about the going price. I'm sure there are less expensive but you may find yourself having to change carriers and sitting in airports for lengthy periods.
  7. I believe you can fly Air Transat from LGW to YHZ with a long layover in YUL and a change to Porter. I think about the only reasons I'd contemplate this is any difference in pricing on the one-way and how long I had to cool my heels in YYZ making the Westjet connection there.
  8. You've already identified many of the 'catches'. Pretty tough to compare price/cost without knowing what is included.
  9. I'd say if you wanted to see as much of the state as you could, planning to fly in the day before a cruise would not be a very satisfactory experience even if the flights were on time.
  10. What would the strategy be if it's snowing or freezing rain on Friday? Leave Thursday or delay until Saturday? Seems to me that your experience is simply a good example of allowing that one day for unforeseen delays and it all worked out for you.
  11. That sort of confuses my understanding of the discussion. AFAIK, Air Canada does not fly out of Gatwick and I thought that's the carrier you plan on using. If you're taking Westjet out of LGW, the whole connections thing is likely different. Of course, you cannot clear Canadian C&I in Gatwick.
  12. You'll get them with your eDocs package later in November... maybe a couple of weeks before departure date.
  13. I can't explain that. In the last six weeks or so I have flown in from Zurich and Milan with connecting flights to Ottawa and the procedure was as I described it earlier... no big immigration lines, no security check, luggage arrived safe and sound in Ottawa without me ever seeing it.
  14. Don't bother with ArriveCAN... it's unnecessary and essentially dead. Oh, it never did provide any 'skip the line' benefit, it was a COVID-19 pre-screening tool. If you're flying into Canada with the connection in Toronto (at least with Air Canada), you follow the signs to the connection gates (very well marked) and you'll go through a pretty quick and painless check with CBSA before making your way to the gate for your connecting flight. No need to worry about your luggage, it should have been routed to your final destination at your departure point. You're unlikely to find yourself in a crowd at immigration... most people arriving in Toronto go to the regular immigration/customs hall but you, as a connecting passenger, are split off from that herd.
  15. That won't happen. The cruise lines don't need BH that bad and they'd never get permission as long as the current opposition to large cruise crowds continues.
  16. I believe you'll be asked to complete a pre-boarding questionnaire the day before boarding.
  17. I recommend the Holiday Inn Express Saint John Harbour Side. Unfortunately, you probably won't find much in West Saint John 'near' the ferry terminal. Pretty much any solution to your travel will involve taxis... you just might want to minimize their use as best you can while choosing a place with relatively quick access to the terminal to catch the ferry.
  18. I don't know about the accuracy of 'the polls' but I'd say, at least for onboard spending, the tiny sector of the overall population/public engaged in that activity is not in the least representative of the population as a whole and drawing any conclusions about inflation and the economy from that sample space is not sound analysis.
  19. OK. That Austria tour wasn't apparent to me.
  20. Prices are definitely up. What I don't see is any savings (price or travel time) on a YYZ-VIE-Train trip vs a YYZ-FCO trip.
  21. Air Canada is open for flights departing 25 October. The option of flying to VIE and taking a train to Rome sounds strange... flights to FCO seem to be about the same price as those to VIE.
