5 Ships Still Missing....

...from the May 2014 listing of cruises.

I know we have about beaten this horse to death, but here we are at June 21st, and still only 18 of 23 ships are listed for booking in May 2014.

When we were on the Splendor in Feb. this year, the Future Cruise Specialist was telling us that the schedule would be out any day now. She said it is always available by the end of Feb each year. Sure makes you wonder what special things they are planning for us! :D

Sunshine

Liberty

Glory

Legend

Pride

Legend is being sent to Australia so that might be why there still delays with getting that released. And they have been topics already about issues with the port of Baltimore for the Pride.

The EPA may have alot to do with it ... Maybe they will send a couple ships to Asia

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

It could play a part. I would not be surprised to see them pull some of these ships from North America ports and send elsewhere. Royal was very sucessful in doing that with Oasis and Allure and moving significant portions of their fleet elsewhere (Europe in their case, which we now know Carnival won't be doing).

Waiting....to see the Legend schedule...then the big decision...do we do the Panama Canal or Alaska next year:):):) Would really love to do the Canal on a Carnival ship.....

Do all these ships sail from extreme inland harbors, excluding the Legend?

Liberty sails from Miami.

Currently Glory is sailing from Boston, and also sails from Miami part time.

Pride & Sunshine doe sail from inland harbors.

Legend isn't leaving for Australia until Fall 2014, so there are still a few months of cruises from Tampa to be released, as well as the details of the repo cruise(s) of course.

Heard from a good source in Carnival that the Legend will return to US ports off season after she goes to Australia.

I am sad that they gave up on Boston after only a couple of years, we love sailing from Boston and will probably switch back to NCL for those trips - though NYC is always a posibility. The cost of cruising from a local home port is so much cheaper than travelling and having to spend a night in a hotel and airfare...

I love Carnival, and I usually find it difficult to find flaws in the company, but this delay is getting ridiculous.

On a side note... I think that the Legend will either come back to Tampa, or stay longer in Tampa before going to Australia. I think that the Pride WILL home port somewhere in Florida or Gulf. The other ships are what I am unsure about though. Hopefully this delay means new and exciting itineraries as well.

Give it a week, there will be some surprises.

Such a great sense of humor, ShotoJuku! Are you sure you haven't done some stand up on some of the Carnival ships? Seriously though, I've never been much for the next week, end of month, middle of next month and so on. This delay has been my only real disappointment with Carnival, that and the indication they are/already have pulled out of Norfolk and Baltimore. Oh well, we'll live on to cruise another day.

Previous post from Mischelle on Carnival FB Page.....I'm afraid that I don't have the information you are requesting. We have been given dates several times and those have all been extended.

It was suggested yesterday that my posting of those "expected release dates" was just making the wait worse.

So at this time we are still waiting for the release of the new itineraries and we will advise as soon as we have additional information

Actually, this is not true in our circumstance. We find that cruising from NYC is often more expensive than flying to Florida and cruising out of there- even adding on a pre-cruise night! And even if there is a break-even, the itineraries from Florida give far more choices than the ones from NY. (have done Canada already, and cruised from NY down to Nassau, HMC, GT).
