Groans. And groans again.

I know I shouldnt be wishing my life away, but............groans

Well down to less than a year now, so that year flew by.

364 days to go.

Nearly time to pack.

I pack twice, preliminary pack a few days out, then repack the day before with all the things I don't need taken out and the things I do added.

😮

Hi Darren,😃 nope.......why so many question marks? I have been cruising for 20 years. I know what I need to do and packing 3 weeks ahead of time is not in the cards for me.  Unless of course you are just teasing😉

Of course I am teasing.

It took me 2o minutes to pack last month, and as I dont unpack on the ship, it took my 5 minutes to repack for the journey home.

I just leave my stuff ion the case and get things out when I need them.

I figure my time onboard is precious, so wasting time unpacking and hanging up clothes is just that....time wasting.

And then towards the end, I want to savour every last moment, not spend time getting depressed by packing.

Our dinner companions couldnt believe it when on the 2nd last night I told them I was packed, other than the clothes I was in.

It is also worth noting that her indoors takes up all of the wardrobe space and the drawers so leaving my stuff in the case was always the only option. lol

I travel light too.

I took 2 pair of shoes, and one of those I was wearing to travel.

Running shoes

5 pair of jeans, all the same. exactly the same.

6 Polo shirts, 2 button shirts

swim shorts

2 pair shorts

11 pair of socks.

running shorts

easy.

Oh and the sweater I travelled in.

Thank god I didnt take a suit.

I have no idea. I worked on the assumption that I need a pair for every day, forgetting that on some days I didnt wear any.

Still, I took comfort from the fact that if the ship broke down and we got stuck for a few days I would be sock happy.

It did bemuse me when I looked in my case one day to see so many socks.

As well as all those jeans.

I cant imagine the state my case would be in if I had to take a suit and tie. (Although as I dont own either that would be difficult just now)

I made more room for the socks by throwing the 2 button down shirts into the bin.

I wore one one day and swear I started to look like my old man.

Not a look I was happy with.

I may be 56 but I consider myself still in my 40s.

Enjoy. Rather than looking back to check, what ship are you on and where are you going?

LOL........😃 I am sailing on Silversea, brand new ship called The DAWN........she just had her Inaugural sailing in April.  I am flying to Barcelona and sailing all around Spain, along with stops in Gibraltar and Morocco.
