You mean this bad boy:

My oh My. The rose makes me want to rethink my Jan 31 cruise. Have you seen the commercial where the husband and wife keep gagging whenever they look at the object? I wonder if we could petition to have it covered during our cruise?

Great review, we are looking forward to our trip on Reflection in March! One question please. Can one ask for footstools? I mean I know I can ask, I guess I should rephrase that, has one ever received when asking for footstools on the balcony? Or even extra chairs? We have one of those large balconies and hope to invite my brother and his girl for some wine one night on the balcony.

We asked. Offered nice tips. Were told they don't have enough for the cabins where they're supposed to be. Come on Celebrity, how much can these fool thing cost???

I'd be happy to charge between $5-7 per day to my Seapass to rent a footstool to enjoy on my non-CC/AQ veranda:rolleyes:!

What a refreshing review.

I was thinking you were one of those people that is just overly positive and perhaps painting it a little too wonderful until I read about the 'hag' :D. From that point on I was reading with an even bigger smile on my face because I sail her in April.

Well judging by the # of people who are willing to book CC for the foot-stools .... I don't see them making them available for "rent" or otherwise.

On Reflection, I can't say that I recall ever even stepping out onto the balcony. On Silhouette, I will have to make sure I try out my foot-stool.

Thanks for your terrific review. I was on Refection in December and agree with everything you said. You must be referring to the same pit boss I saw. If there is one area that needs a lot of improvement it is the casino. There were some friendly dealers but overall the staff did not seem happy. Also agree with your comment about the Atrium and the music, dance lessons, etc. This highlights how sorely missed the M class Rendezvous Lounge is. It is a venue that would eliminate the Atrium problem. Overall however Reflection is a great ship and provides a great cruise experience. Can't wait to be back on board.

How does the Reflection's art compare to the other Celebrity ships? I loved randomly discovering interesting pieces aboard the Silhouette.

I was disappointed in the art. I probably should have grabbed an I-pad and taken the self-guided tour to learn more about it. To me it seemed most of the art was selected to be provocative, evocative, engaging or interesting rather than beautiful. A lot of photographs and sculpture and multimedia. Not many oils.

My favorite piece was a Gaudi-esque piece of 3 dimensional mortared glass triangles in blues/greens/purples. I believe it was on the main stairwell on deck four or five.

But isn't that what art is SUPPOSED to be? Provocative, engaging, stimulating? Much of it is not 'beautiful'. It hopes to start a conversation with you.

Love those large 1A balconies! But they do need footstools at least. I wish Celebrity weren't so stuck on the theory that balcony furniture should match the category of cabin. Some AQ or CC balconies are not large enough for footstools and, in fact, don't have them. The balcony furniture should be based on the size of the balcony. But that probably makes too much sense for the suits in Miami.

I am not sure it would be a good idea to price a cabin based on the size of the balcony.

Are you sure that some non handicap AQ and CC cabins on the Solstice Class ships do not have footstools. I have never seen or read about missing footstools. I find that really hard to believe.

Since all non suite balcony cabins are the same size Celebrity needs to find some ways to justifiy a higher cost.

I remember there was a picture of two women - I think it was on Deck 6 mid. I always did a double-take because the piece seemed someone risqué, but it was always my mark that next deck was mine. I think it was a picture of two women at a spa?

I bought one of these blow up foot rests to take away with me and it works a treat. Doesn't take up any space when deflated:

Fair point. But too often I found the conversation went something like this:

Me: Hello art.

Art: I'm obtuse. Kiss off.

Me: Nice talking to you.

Actually, the angled balconies off the hump are larger than standard balconies. They are Category 1A and X does charge a small premium for the extra al fresco square footage.

Grew review, many fun comments and points of consideration. We're back on reflection in a year with family, some who didn't like their last cruise in 2006 so we're trying to "make it better" and hoping Reflection helps.

Happy sailing mainah,

Jenna

I like OP's post and general attitude. My wife and I are on the Reflection the first week of March and like most of our cruises can't wait. Our attitude has always been to just go with the flow and not get hung up on the little things. Our cruises in the past have been fabulous and sounds like this one on Reflection will be as well. Funny thing is, I don't like boats or the water:). I suppose it does help that my wife is a amazing extrovert, making friends where ever she goes, especially with the cruise ship staff. Talk to your waiter/waitress/bartender,etc about their life; How did they get there? What their dreams are? and watch how your experience can go through the roof. We have met some really fascinating people on these ships.

You might be the perfect candidate for our favorite shipboard drinking game. Whenever you hear someone ask "Where you from?" well, you guessed it.......drink.

So do I have to sneak into the men's room to find out what you are talking about? The ladies' room has no such embellishments.

I'll give you an example:

"I am the beginning of the end and the end of time and space. I'm essential to creation and I surround every place. What am I?"
