Things I Wish Carnival Would Offer

I want a music free serenity area.

You won't like my classical, jazz, rap, rock, pop, country or any other genre.

There is nothing serene about listening to music that you do not like. Music in that area should come from an iPod and earbuds.

Totally agree with you!

I would like more "quiet areas" on the ship. I love to read, and when we have a balcony I'll read out there for an hour or two or more every day. Love the quiet and being able to concentrate.

But almost everywhere you go on the ship there is piped in music. I remember one time trying to read in one of those nice comfortable chairs by a window on the Promenade but there was music competing with each other coming from the casino and one of the bars. :(

During the day I'll sometimes go inside a bar that's not being used, and just sit and read.

Our next cruise we have an inside room, so no reading on my balcony. :( Hopefully the Serenity Area will be quiet and serene though. :)

I want the opposite I want more music more bands, I am on vacation if I want to sit in a quiet room I have my house 365 days a year lol.

Carnival has taken away a lot of the music/bands its a lot more quiet now than it used to be guess you can say its a happy medium.

I do agree the serenity area should be quiet after all the word should live up to itself.

Yvonne that is what is good with the RC ships the Viking Crown lounge is always free of music and always quiet unfortunately they taken it away on the Oasis added a suite dining area and more cabins what a shame!

Remove Rolex from the shops - selection is absolutely disgusting, overpriced, and a bunch of Franken-Watches. I would lose my mind if I were Rolex.

Add shoe shine service to/near spa area

Better model ships. My Breeze ship is smaller than my Dream/Liberty/Freedom and the same size as my Sensation.

Live poker in the casino would be great!!!! The video poker works well; HOWEVER, alot of table talking that would otherwise be minimized by a ref (dealer) would make for a much better poker experience on board.

I'm not so sure about that. Played Live Poker on the imagination, and found the dealers to be inexperienced and slow. It was around 10 to 11 hands per hour, which made playing more of a grind then a fun experience. I only played for about an hour and half and decided I had better things to do. Of course I haven't done the video poker, so I can't compare, but the live poker wasn't close to what I have experienced in the casinos I have been in.

One thing I would like back is a cigar bar. Don't care where it is located, but it would be nice to have a place inside to sit and enjoy a drink and a cigar post dinner. THat was one of my favorite things to do on my 1st two cruises (didn't get much opportunity on the last few) and now that experience is gone.

This is minor stuff, but since the question was asked...

  • Better room service menu
  • More food options between 3:30 and 5:30 PM
  • Guest lecturers to feed my mind
  • Better casino odds
  • More single tax waivers!
  • More organized, and possibly supervised, activities for singles
  • More non-standard cruise lengths
  • Different ports (sometimes)
  • Longer stays in port
  • Better Internet access and speeds, preferably for free

Wow! Minor indeed! :D

I can certainly see the speed as an issue if they don't have experienced dealers. You see quite a few hands per hour with video.. but definitely a lot of talk in big hands.. typicaly from newbies that are buying in with 20-30 at a time.

I haven't gotten to a point where I was involved and had to ask someone to quiet down; however, I could definitely see that happening!!!!

Not having to sign a receipt for Bottomless Bubbles every time I get a soda. Especially when the balance is "0". Totally stupid. No idea why they went to that. RC doesn't make you do that with the Freestyle machines and you don't get taxed on a soda when in a U.S. Port.

Sales tax laws vary by state. Assuming soda is taxable in the State you are in when you purchase the beverage, you will be taxed. The cruise line is required to collect the tax, file a Sales/use tax return, and pay the taxes to the state if they have nexus in the port.

A business can lose the right to transact business in a state for non compliance with local tax laws. I highly doubt RCI is willing to take that risk.

As far as I know, RC doesn't tax the passenger every time they fill up while in a U.S. Port. Do they? And up until recently, Carnival didn't, either. Celebrity doesn't. Now if they want to go back to taxing the whole package when purchased (which is what they used to do) like Celebrity and maybe RC (don't honestly know), then so be it. But to have to sign a receipt ESPECIALLY when the balance is $0.00, that, my friend, is just asinine.

b- breakfast- offer grits and have pre made omelets out in buffet this will enable the lines of the omelet station to be shorter, have breakfast pizza's served in the pizzeria.

Carnival does have grits at the breakfast buffet (at least they did on the last ships we were on). It's my favorite cruise breakfast, with some scrambled eggs. :)

Breakfast pizza would be awesome!

I'm going to go with a better variety of ports. Their mainstream cruises (the ones that you can find all the time) are to the bahamas, Eastern (St Thomas, San Juan, St. Martin etc) or Western (some combo of Belize Roatan Mexico and possibly Grand Cayman).

What about mixing them up so that Jamaica is on more of the 7 day runs. Or the Dominican Republic or St. Cruix just to name a few. Sub in St. Kitts or Antigua instead of St. Marin for example. Also what about more 7-8 day runs that go to the ABCs?

Oh...and stop charging more for going Eastern rather than Western!

CruisinCrow they didn't have grits on the Dream or my two Fascination cruises, maybe they added them now. I also love grits and they love me too lol

I always wondered why they kept the pizzeria closed in the am when they can make use of it offering breakfast pizzas. :D

I agree with better ports, I am so sick of the eastern/western ports been there over and over and done it all too. I always wondered why they didn't have any Bermuda cruises from Port Canaveral since the distance is only 200 miles more from Port Canaveral than it is from NY.

Princess doesn't tax the package at time of purchase, doesn't tax individual drinks ordered when in port, doesn't swipe your card to verify identity and doesn't make you sign a receipt. You simply show your card, take your drink and walk away.

Their all inclusive alcohol package is the same way without the need of all adult passengers in a stateroom purchasing one.

We discussed this before and agreed that the way Carnival does it now is totally stupid. And to think that Carnival and Princess are under the same Corporation umbrella yet have such wildly different policies is mind blowing to say the least. Especially when it has to do with taxes and such.

Each subsidiary is operated independently, meaning one subsidiary has no sway in deciding what the other does.

I don't know anything about how things work, but I would think that it would be easier to follow the same rules straight across the board, however, who am I to say how to run a business? Anyway, it just goes to show that the other companies must not be too worried about being in violation of tax laws or whatever was mentioned before.

Don't want to take this too far off topic so I'll leave it here.

Again, my wish for Carnival is to make the Bottomless Bubbles the way it used to be. NO STINKING RECEIPT SIGNING! You hear me, Carnival?! It's a total waste of customer's time, the bartender's time, and paper. That is all :)

1. More ship specific souvenirs. Shirts, collector spoons, ornaments, mugs, etc.

2. Bottomless Bubbles Plus that include specialty coffees and milkshakes.

3. Expanded night buffet with a salad bar, hamburgers, desserts, etc.

4. Onion Rings.

5. More 8 and 9 day itineraries.

6. Live bands

7. Adult only pool.

8. Hot tubs that are actually hot.

9. More specialty restaurants.

10. Revamped VIFP program.

I wish we could use the VIFP drink voucher ANY time. It already has a $9 limit so what's the difference if I use it at dinner or at the pool. That's when I want to have a drink, not at breakfast.

That's exactly the reason they have such restrictions. :D

That's so weird. They had them on Paradise, Sensation and I'm pretty sure on Victory. On Paradise, they were in a big, black soup pot with a lid so I almost missed them. The cheese grits at the brunch are good too.
