Muster locations

Recommended Posts

We are booked in 1231 on Deck 10 and our DD is booked into my DMs room on deck 6. We want to get our daughter to the correct location just before muster and then get back to our deck. Anyone know where to find your muster location BEFORE you see it on your sea pass card or the back of your door?

Royal does not publish muster stations. You would have to hope that someone here has been in the same staterooms and remembers their muster station.

Won't you have enough time after boarding but before muster to scope out the situation?

We'll PROBABLY have enough time - but I love to unpack everything when we first get our room. We also have to get to Adventure Ocean to register the DD, change our MDR reservations, meet with casino host AND eat lunch with the family.

As a planner - I really like having an idea of where I need to be and when.

Bob - I thought for SURE that you would know how to find muster stations. :P

I don't know if all ships do the Adventure Ocean registration the same way, but on Radiance you couldn't get onboard without passing their registration table. Very much of a logjam for those of us who just wanted to get on the ship but were stuck behind families who spread out and blocked the little bit of space we could have gotten by to enter.

Convenient for those who need it, but I would have liked them to have set it up somewhere else for the rest of us.

From what I've read recently (and I can totally be wrong) on FOS, they now ask you to register AT Adventure Ocean on the first day. They're quick to remind you that it's not a drop off - just a registration.

Gotcha. MUCH better than the bottleneck they created on the Radiance a couple of weeks ago. I definitely mentioned that on my post-cruise survey as somewhere to improve - moving the registration table away from the door they are having everyone enter the ship through.

eta: Is it possible to split up the things that need to be done? Someone take kiddo to get registered while someone else goes to MDR to change dining? Could you unpack while husband meets with the casino host (I don't do casinos so I don't know why that happens or if everyone needs to be present for that)? Sort of divide and conquer the tasks?

Yes - possible and probable. My question is more for peace of mind - so I know where we all need to be and when. I thought for sure that someone would know where the muster was held based on my room number - but I won't sweat it. :D

And - no - you don't have to go to the casino - but we have some perks through the casino that we need to make sure are received. (Dinners at the Specialty restaurants, etc.)

Gotcha. Just trying to think of ways you could maybe save some time. Possibly go to the muster station on the way to or from one of the things that needs to be done so you know where it is?

I know on a Disney board (not on CC) there is a list with semblance of where they all are, but Disney only has 4 ships, so it's a little easier I guess.

Registration is at Adventure Ocean. They usually offer two different times to go by and register. However, when you board, the AO staff are usually setup right where you board - they are there to put muster station bracelets on the children and hand out the AO daily. This may have been what caused the bottleneck that PP was referring to, but it is more for safety than anything else - they want to be sure every child has a bracelet so that any crew or AO staff can get them to their muster station in case of emergency. By setting up right where you board, they can catch all the kids.

That's a great idea - but I can see how it could cause bottlenecking at certain peak times when guests are trying to board.

Thanks for the info!! :D

Since this is important to you, you will have to rearrange those priorities. Perhaps locating muster stations is more important than unpacking?

I'm sure we'll be fine. Just seeing if someone had ever stayed on deck ten near the front of the ship and remembered where there muster was. :D

Maybe I don´t get it: But as your DD is with your DM staying in the same cabin your DM is responsible to get DD to the correct muster station. As DM has to go there anyway. So the only thing you have to make sure is that DD is in her cabin with DM a couple of minutes prior to the drill.

In case she didn´t get the bracelet prior to the drill she will get it at the muster station.

In addition to what others have posted:

Your mother will be taking your daughter to the safety drill.

I will add this:

Are your cabins, though on different decks, on the same side of the ship, i.e., either both port or both starboard? If so, unless any of you is in the small-ish group that musters in the dining room, your muster stations will also be on the same side of the ship. You will see immediately on your SeaPass cards just how close or far apart those muster stations are.

And although on different decks, the closer they are to the same location ON those decks, the closer your muster stations will be.

Unfortunately, we couldn't be more spread apart. (Group 1 - deck 2 port side mid-ship, Group 2 - deck 6 port side, mid ship, and US - deck 10 starboard all the way forward.)

We'll be fine. We should be on the ship early enough to get all of it done. Thanks for the tip!! :D

Unless you plan on boarding late, you won't even be able to get to you stateroom until early afternoon (obviously varies depending on the ship). you won't have much to do for the first hour or two besides find your muster stations.

From your follow up Posts I´m not sure why you Need to know in advance. The Muster Station is on your seapass Card, so when you first get onboard, just check the signage and you know where it is within a few seconds, so it shouldn´t take too much time out of your other planned activities. In Addition you will check your DD with AO for the wristband and they can tell you where the Muster Station will be.

This is something knowing ahead of time might hurt you. There are rare occasions they have to change it at the last minute.

Why can't your DM get your daughter to the correct muster station?

DM will have her at muster - but daughter will be with us most of the cruise including boarding, adventure ocean registration, etc. - so we just need to get her to HER muster station and then ourselves back to our muster.

I'm sure it won't be a problem. We'll figure it out. ;)

The muster time will be printed on the boarding day Compass and they will likely make an announcement a few minutes prior to the drill. You will also know it will happen as the staff start to prepare folks to leave the pool and other non muster areas. Nothing will be open to do ( like AO registration) EXCEPT the muster drill. At that point you can walk your daughter to her station and have plenty of time to get to yours.

enjoy the cruise

I liked the way they did it on Liberty a couple of weeks ago. If you have a child that needed the wristband, you were directed forward on the deck. If you did not have a child needing a wristband, you were directed aft on the deck. That way, the only people in the bottleneck were those needing the wristband.
