jmcancruise Posted October 1, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 1, 2015 Just curious what to expect flying Good Friday. Will it be really busy? Not cruising till 2017, but booked without realizing we would be crossing Easter weekend.
CruiserBruce Posted October 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2015 Probably the same as most other Fridays. It isn't a big issue holiday like other possibilities. Where would you be flying to/from?
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 2, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2015 It will be a bit busier at the airports but I wouldn't worry about it. Keith
waterbug123 Posted October 2, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 2, 2015 Friday flights tend to be packed regardless of the date.
Zach1213 Posted October 2, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 2, 2015 Friday flights tend to be packed regardless of the date. This was my thought...the other thing is that perhaps instead of, say, 60% business travelers/40% leisure traveler (random number), they might be flipped...that could lead to a bit slower movement with more inexperienced flyers, but I have no evidence to back this...it's just an idea. I wouldn't expect to see a huge difference like the day before Thanksgiving or December 23rd.
jmcancruise Posted October 2, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted October 2, 2015 This makes me feel a bit better. We would be flying from Bangor, Portland or Boston to Fort Lauderdale or Miami. Sailing from Miami.

UKBayern Posted October 3, 2015 #8 Share Posted October 3, 2015 In most places, Good Friday is not a holiday. That only applies to the USA, in Europe or South America, it is big.
Strawberry Posted October 3, 2015 #9 Share Posted October 3, 2015 Yes, I know that. So, I'll clarify my answer --- In most places, within the USA, Good Friday is not a holiday. (The OP wrote that they are traveling in the USA.)
Rare FlyerTalker Posted October 3, 2015 #10 Share Posted October 3, 2015 Of course, with load factors climbing all the time, soon every day will be like the day before Thanksgiving. :( For an interesting take about "long crowded flights", try THIS LINK. Budget Queen Posted October 4, 2015 #11 Share Posted October 4, 2015 Yep Fridays are a busy day. I do think there will be some more people flying on Good Friday, because there are a lot of school breaks that start that day.
