NSWP Posted March 5, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 5, 2016 (edited) Yes, that would be right. NOT for AUSTRALIANS. Of course not, we are bottom of the food chain with the cruise lines. It took years for Princess to get around to giving us Captain Circle Benefits and Military OBC. Edited March 5, 2016 by NSWP

Go-Bucks! Posted March 6, 2016 #14 Share Posted March 6, 2016 I wish Princess would give good booking perks like Celebrity does. They give you a choice of 2 of the 4 perks for a non-suite cabin and all 4 for full suites! Choices are: Classic Drink package for 2 persons, Unlimited Internet for 2 persons, Prepaid gratuities for 2 persons, and up to $300 OBC for 2 persons. I prefer to sail on Princess, but those perks are making it very tempting to book another one on Celebrity. Come on Princess - offer some really good perks like those I listed. ;)

We booked a November cruise on Celebrity because of the awesome perks offered. We sail on both lines but just be aware that those "free" perks may not be all they seem. The initial cost (for us at least) is usually more on Celebrity and then a lot of the "extra" on board expenses are more. Corkage for wine is $25/bottle, the specialty restaurants are about $45- $50/pp, drinks are more expensive, spa treatments a little higher, etc. As I said, we currently sail both lines but are not fooling ourselves that all of those "free" perks are really free. Celebrity also seems to be slowing cutting back on some of their amenities.
anthonyy7 Posted March 6, 2016 #17 Share Posted March 6, 2016 I agree, the pricing all around is higher on Celebrity. They just build those perks right in to make it seem like your getting a better deal with the "free" perks

I prefer to sail on Princess, but those perks are making it very tempting to book another one on Celebrity. Come on Princess - offer some really good perks like those I listed. ;) I'm pretty happy with my recent Princess amenities. I have a Canal cruise booked which is giving me free gratuities and $600 OBC....and that doesn't include for FCC OBC, Shareholder OBC, TA gift OBC, and Loyalty OBC. Last time I booked on Celebrity they didn't allow stacking of OBC. Has that changed? I get other loyalty amenities. Princess is making it hard for me to go with other cruise lines. I have a couple other cruises booked with similar OBC, but only the Canal cruise had free grats.
kwahl1 Posted March 8, 2016 #22 Share Posted March 8, 2016 Watching for it! I think the best promotion we had was tips and gratuities included on a 15 day Hawaii cruise recently. That'll save you a chunk of change. Approx $400.;)

Jeremiah1212 Posted March 8, 2016 #24 Share Posted March 8, 2016 I found more information on the sale online. Unless the base fare drops substantially, it looks like we are much better off keeping our booking under the previous Twice is Nice promo. There aren't any other perks like a drink package, etc. other than a free spa treatment when you book a suite.
RMMariner Posted March 9, 2016 #25 Share Posted March 9, 2016 Last time I booked on Celebrity they didn't allow stacking of OBC. Has that changed? You are absolutely correct. We could not even stack our FCC with any other OBC offer with Celebrity. I believe they also do not allow shareholder OBC stacking. Princess is much more amenable to stacking, and thus with good planning, I believe a better deal can be found with Princess.
