Rare ronrick1943 Posted July 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2016 Wow, really nice. Now I'm really happy we booked a cruise on this ship. Hope it doesn't spoil us-because we also booked the Mariner after the Explorer. Rick
Pies4u Posted July 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) We are due on Explorer in September having only been on Mariner to date. Just booked Voyager for 2018 - looking forward to both cruises and ships with equal anticipation. Mariner is an outstanding ship, the levels of comfort, elegance and service are exceptional. The spaciousness of the public areas and quality of dining are hugely impressive. You will enjoy Mariner irrespective of what Explorer has to offer. I actually like the layout and design of Voyager and expect to have a great trip in 2018, even if Explorer does spoil us with the spa, extra dining venue and it's grandness. They are all terrific ships and will provide distinctive experiences. The consistent factor should be the Regent style, ambience and "feel" - we've only done it once but we are certainly hooked having been big Cunard fans previously. (Still are, I guess, but Regent has the edge for us for space and ship size). Edited July 8, 2016 by Pies4u

farbster Posted July 8, 2016 #13 Share Posted July 8, 2016 Will post a few more tonight. Spent all day in pool. Will get to take pics of gym and some other areas. Didn't go to tour all the suites today. Too busy relaxing in pool. Nothing beats a sea day. Great dinner in mdr. Made own surf and turf with rib eye, lobster, shrimp and scallops. Finished with soufflé.

xrvlcruiser Posted July 8, 2016 #16 Share Posted July 8, 2016 Lawrence - one question - I asked on your site - what is the "box" - next to last photo? The pictures are marvelous - thanks so much! Peggy
farbster Posted July 8, 2016 #17 Share Posted July 8, 2016 Peggy, are you talking about the pic from the men's room? You can see a urinal in corner? If that one, it is a framed piece of art that they hadn't unwrapped or hung. There's another pic from earlier that shows the pod detergent provided in laundry. xrvlcruiser Posted July 9, 2016 #18 Share Posted July 9, 2016 I think it must be the laundry detergent . . . . .thanks
Travelcat2 Posted July 9, 2016 #19 Share Posted July 9, 2016 While I am enjoying farbster's photos, the USA Today photos are absolutely amazing. Can't wait to see and experience the ship in person:)
Emperor Norton Posted July 9, 2016 #20 Share Posted July 9, 2016 (edited) I wonder why the USA Today photos left out any shot of the actual living spaces. Edited July 9, 2016 by Emperor Norton
xrvlcruiser Posted July 9, 2016 #21 Share Posted July 9, 2016 (edited) I wondered the same thing. Maybe the cabins were not open for viewing . . . By the way, the Explorer and the Navigator are both in Toulon Peggy Edited July 9, 2016 by xrvlcruiser
