Welcome to Cruise Critic!

Cruise Critic has a whole section devoted to Hawaii, located here:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=62

Every Hawaii port is covered with all sorts of info. When you are going is important, as whale watching season (Dec-Mar) is best on Maui, as opposed to the other islands.

Also, you will be docking in Kahalui (as opposed to tendering in Lahaina). Rental cars are a very common option.

If you just can't find anything that shakes your tree, I'm going to give HUGE props to https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g60633-d824354-Reviews-Grandma_s_Coffee_House-Kula_Maui_Hawaii.html

Grandma's Coffee Shop for a late breakfast.

Rent a car, easy to get to. Use Google Maps for GPS. An easy location to search for would be Kula Hospital. Grandmas is right at the intersection.

You are going to be treated to a non touristy, very welcoming, original Ohana atmosphere and food.

Beautiful drive through the Maui countryside.

Sugar cane museum. A 30 minute, very local museum.

**

Take the road to the end past Weilea. Ends up in a lava field. Last time there we were surrounded by goats.

Good snorkeling spots up there past Wailea and Makena off of Makena Rd. Ends at La Peruse Bay, which is the place surrounded by the lava field. The drive is lazy and nice.

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

Hilo Hattie offers free shuttles to their stores -- from there we wandered around to other places as it was located in a plaza.

I don't think Hilo Hatties exists anymore in Maui; certainly no longer in Kihei.

Here are two you might like:

Drive up to the top of Mt. Haliakala. Its a dormant volcano 10,000 feet up. Beautiful views, especially at sunrise. Educational. Easy ride up.

Hana Highway, a 60 mile ride along the coast, lots of nice sightseeing along the route.
