jamiel03 Posted August 31, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2016 Hi, I'm planning on taking an NCL cruise, first time on this cruise line. I know they have banned bringing on bottled waters now. If I get the Ultimate Drink package, does that include bottles of water? I've only cruised on Celebrity before, and know that it's included in that package, but it wasn't very clear for NCL. Sorry if this is a repeat question, I looked through the threads but didn't see anything. Thanks! Jamie
rayness Posted August 31, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2016 From what I read no, bottled water is not included. You can purchase Aquafina water from NCL..... Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Sauer-kraut Posted August 31, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2016 From the NCL terms and conditions for the Beverage Package: https://www.ncl.com/terms/ultimate-beverage-package The Ultimate Beverage Package does not include room service, package sales, ship specific promotions or beer buckets, designated Super Premium brands (subject to change), bottled wine, mini bar purchases, bottled water, fresh squeezed juices, select Lavazza coffee beverages, energy drinks, vending machines, wine stations or spirits, cocktails, draft or bottled beer and glasses of wine over $15 USD. hawkeyetlse Posted August 31, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2016 Read this first, then come back and read more CC threads. The part about bottled water is very clear: THE ULTIMATE BEVERAGE PACKAGE TERMS & CONDITIONS
Jesyth Posted August 31, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2016 Bottled water is definitely not included in any package. You can buy a pack of it from NCL directly or buy it by the bottle. Or, of course, you can just drink the (completely safe, generally pretty decent tasting) water on the ship/refill your own bottle etc.
Rare PhillyTravelBug Posted August 31, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2016 I completely trust the water on the ship, but do what I'm doing and buy a Brita water bottle.
jamiel03 Posted August 31, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted August 31, 2016 Thanks! Guess I didn't look clearly enough. Sucks that you have to purchase separately. I like taking water with me off the ship, but will invest in a Brita water bottle. Thanks for the idea!
Rare BirdTravels Posted August 31, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2016 The only free bottled water is if you have a casino drink card (not to be confused with the UBP).

vince_g Posted August 31, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 31, 2016 What if you are staying in a Heaven Suite .? Do you get bottle water free? Max One bottle in stateroom at embarkation. You buy after that.
cb at sea Posted September 1, 2016 #11 Share Posted September 1, 2016 The ship's water is what is in bottled water. Just bring a refillable bottle, if you must carry water with you. Otherwise, you can get ice water whenever you want, from any bar or eating venue!
CP3o Posted September 1, 2016 #12 Share Posted September 1, 2016 Do they really stop you from bringing bottled water on the ship? I'm pretty sure some of the ships I've been on say no but don't really have a problem with it so don't inforce it (maybe check it's not vodka). But lines have changing rules and enforcement of rules. For NCL Escape, can I still put fair amount of waterbottles in a rolling carryon? Did a ban on this happen after June? Thanks.

The ban started July 15th .... you are not allowed to bring any beverage on board except wine and each bottle will incur a $15 corkage.
CP3o Posted September 1, 2016 #14 Share Posted September 1, 2016 Thanks, yep, just googled and learned that. Wow, late to this news. I don't mind it so much but I think when Carnival did this they really dropped the price of buying a package of waterbottles. I'll probably pack some empty gatorade bottles for the larger openings and fill using a clean cup and store in fridge and will be fine. I like to have screw tops for tossing into bags when in ports. fshagan Posted September 1, 2016 #15 Share Posted September 1, 2016 The tap water in the stateroom crapper is chlorinated, sometimes heavily, and objectionable to many people. However, the water served in the dining rooms and at the buffet are carbon filtered and that effectively removes the chlorine taste. We don't mind that water and I'm sensitive to chlorine taste. You can also have the room steward bring you a pitcher of the same filtered water with ice each day, and you can use that to fill your water bottles without dealing with the buffet "transfer glass" policy (you have to use one of their small water glasses to transfer water from the buffet water dispenser to your water bottle that would take 4 to 6 pours). disneygirl10 Posted September 2, 2016 #18 Share Posted September 2, 2016 (edited) The only free bottled water is if you have a casino drink card (not to be confused with the UBP). I have a casino drink card and the UBP. I am second guessing the UBP and may switch for the dining instead. The second passenger in my stateroom is 6 years old, so he has the soda package. Can anyone tell me exactly what is included in that? We probably will not go to any buffets, so at specialty restaurants and other dining will he be able to order anything besides soda, i.e. milk? Can anyone tell me exactly what is included in that? Fountain soda only. Milk is free in dining rooms and restaurants, along with tap water and a few other beverages depending on the time of day (iced tea, juice). macandlucy Posted September 2, 2016 #21 Share Posted September 2, 2016 We were just on the Escape recently and the security person in Miami would not let me take on the empty water bottle I was holding in my hand. I pointed out that it was empty and she said, nope, still not allowed. Had it been in my bag may have been a different story, dunno.

I'm wondering if they would go so far as confiscate people's water bottles with Brita filters in them.
arizonaperson Posted January 25, 2017 #25 Share Posted January 25, 2017 (edited) So this is going to be my first cruise with NCL in April and I have the drink package. Not the water package ,the alcohol/soda package. Can anyone tell me why a bottle of water would not be included in this package? Also I can take empty bottles of water on the ship with me and refill them with the water in the buffet or wherever I choose ,is this correct? I will be traveling to Mexico and I like to keep the small bottles of water in my backpack or purse for shore excursions as it will most likely be warm outside. Thanks.
