cb at sea Posted September 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2016 Officially, RCI has NEVER allowed any beverages....but they usually ignore small amounts of soda or water. They WILL confiscate beer or liquor. You are allowed 2 bottles of wine per cabin (1 per adult, up to 2 in one cabin).
Ken at the beach Posted September 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2016 (edited) It has always been officially not allowed but seldom do they actually enforce it. Edited September 25, 2016 by Ourusualbeach
Rare silentbob007 Posted September 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2016 Sometimes they get pickier during spring break cruises but generally it is not an issue with reasonable amounts.
gagirl7143 Posted September 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Just off MJ on Friday and people in front of us had 2 24 packs that porters would not accept but told them they had to be hand carried. Sent from my iPad using Forums

TWO PER CABIN. I am so glad that you will read my post and learn this for the next time. :D
Lordnlkon Posted September 26, 2016 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Just got off the liberty, we packed a 12 pack of soda in the original packaging(was in the luggage) and about 18 bottles of water mixed throughout the suitcases. Everything made it to the room not a problem.

FranknBeans Posted September 26, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Thanks folks. So do they not even charge corkage for the wine taken on board?
davekathy Posted September 26, 2016 #10 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Thanks folks. So do they not even charge corkage for the wine taken on board? Not if you're drinking your wine in your cabin. In the MDR yes.
Rare JessyCruises Posted September 26, 2016 #11 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Not if you're drinking your wine in your cabin. In the MDR yes. There is no longer a corkage fee in the MDR. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Rare LMaxwell Posted September 26, 2016 #13 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Not if you're drinking your wine in your cabin. In the MDR yes. No corkage anywhere on board anymore. And there was never corkage in the MDR if you brought in your own glass of wine; just if you had them open your bottle.
GolfMom321 Posted September 26, 2016 #14 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Bringing on water depends on the ship and the port. But I've been on Anthem out of Cape Liberty 4 seperate times now, and every time I've brought a case of flavored water, slapped a luggage tag on it, and checked it with my luggage. It's arrived in my cabin with no problem. Can't speak to any other ship or port, but I have heard of similar success elsewhere.

toras Posted September 26, 2016 #18 Share Posted September 26, 2016 I bring a bottle to the MDR, have the waiter open and serve it, and if not finished bring it back to the cabin? Or have them store it? What about a specialty restaurant?
leaveitallbehind Posted September 26, 2016 #19 Share Posted September 26, 2016 The waiter will open and store it if you want without a corkage fee.

Rare island lady Posted September 26, 2016 #21 Share Posted September 26, 2016 I simply put a 10-12 bottles of my favorite bottled water (unable to buy on ship) into a cloth tote bag by themselves, tie a luggage tag on it, and it arrives at my cabin. No problem. Upon empty, I fold it and put it in my luggage for disembarkation. If it should end up in the "naughty room" they can baby sit it until the next day when there are no lines to wait in. ;)

I should have looked it up first before answering as we never take a bottle of wine into the MDR. Just a glass of wine for each of us.
BlueCollarCruiser Posted September 26, 2016 #24 Share Posted September 26, 2016 I brought on a 6 pack of coke bottles. It comes in handy for a stateroom drink when you're too lazy to get up.
leaveitallbehind Posted September 27, 2016 #25 Share Posted September 27, 2016 (edited) Thanks for that. Read posts 11,12,13,19, & 23 - there is no corkage fee anywhere on any RCI ship and hasn't been for quite some time. :) Edited September 27, 2016 by leaveitallbehind
