Travel from MIA to port?

I searched and couldn't find an answer. We leave on Sunday 11/13 (NCL GETAWAY) and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for how to get from the Miami airport to the port. I've read a few different things shuttle, taxi, Uber, etc. Does anyone have any experience with any of these of the pros and cons? Thank you!!

I believe there are shuttles available probably at low cost. I stayed overnight in a hotel last year and they had a free shuttle. Taxi are fairly expensive but you can get to the port for 20-30 dollars.

I will have to look at it again but if I remember correctly the shuttle was $20 each way. And on the last day we're not going right back to the airport we're staying at a local hotel so I'm not sure shuttle is a possibility there.

Taxi from MIA to the Port of Miami is fixed rate, $27, before tip, for the taxi, not per person. So cheaper and easier than a shuttle. Unless you are traveling solo.

Used a taxi in September no problem, signs in the arrivals hall directing you to the taxi stand and as already stated it's a fixed price. You can pay cash or charge and the cabs are monitored.

Yes Cost will depend on the port you are going to

Port Everglades is a lot further than port of Miami

There are taxi lines at both the airport AND the port.....simply get in line, and you'll be put in the next cab (they are lined up, waiting on you!) It will be just outside of baggage claim.

note, the flat rate is for airport to port (or reverse)

 

if you go someplace else, you are on the meter

 

meaning a hotel NEAR the airport .... on the meter. Make a stop = on the meter.

 

the fare will be close but NOT flat rate.

 

Some people panic when the driver starts the meter even tho they are going directly to the port .... the drivers have learned that many times a request for a last minute stop comes up ... so they protect their fare by starting the meter. If you make no side trips you should only pay the flat rate. The flat rate IS posted in every taxi I've used in recent years.

Taxis are readily available. Usually a very short line.

I have done taxi's many time between MIA and both local ports. It's a flat fee, so you should be good. I prefer Uber, but it might be easier to use a taxi in your case.
