I was on a B2B in November, and no the internet minutes didn't carry over. I went on a tour on changeover day, but I believe everyone has to get off, go through immigration and then can get straight back onboard.

I was on a B2B in November also, and my internet minutes carried over. We had some left over and thought they would start over, but it would not add new minutes till we used up the remaining minutes.

If you are doing a B2B from a US port (Lord, can one of these days someone asking this question actually specify the port, please) then yes the ship must be "zeroed out" at least momentarily. You will receive instructions in your cabin a few days before as to when and where to report to be escorted off and back on the ship. But if you wish to get off earlier and visit the port you are certainly free to do so--only issue is that you then cannot reboard until general boarding for new passengers starts.

(From most non-US ports you can ignore the above; in the EU especially there are no such rules)

As for internet minutes--are you asking about a plan you purchase or the Platinum/Elite benefit? Either way it often depends on whether you booked as a single voyage under one booking number or as separate cruises with two. If as one any purchased package of minutes should be valid until final disembarkation; if not, I would be safe and buy only what you need the first leg. A lot of this is also at the whim of the Internet Center Manager, so check with them a day or so before the second cruise starts.

We just got home from a b2b on the Royal, booked as one cruise. We had to clear Customs at Port Everglades on changeover day, so we walked a few blocks to a Dollar Tree and a Winn Dixie on 17th to pick up a few things. We were able to re board through the crew entrance instead of waiting through the line.

Our leftover free internet minutes carried over until gone then the new minutes showed up.

I believe what you underwent was an immigration check. You only have to fill out the Customs form when disembarking at the end of your travel.

On our last several b2b cruises we received notice in our cabin a day or two before returning to Ft.Lauderdale instructing all back to back cruisers to meet in the Princess Theatre at a certain time (if you didn't want to get off the ship). Once everyone was there and the rest of the ship was empty, a customs officer came onboard and all back to back cruisers had to show their passports and then were free to go about the ship.

As for the internet minutes, I can only speak to the minutes we get for being Elite; each cruise gave us minutes and they remained on the account until used. Hope that helps.

I don't know what happened but internet minutes have been carried over automatically for a while now without even having to ask. You should have seen the manager & they could have taken care of the problem.

You should have complained at the Internet Center. It's supposed to carry over.

Hmm...after a little thought...it might make a difference if you purchased the minutes or they were part of your Platinum/Elite benefit.

You must have had a lot of B2B pax.

Our minutes were the Elite credit and carried over every time.

We had about 600 passengers staying on the Royal for another go round. We met in the Princess theatre are 10am (except for the two jerks who showed up about 11:20am) and just showed our documents to the immigration officials. We did not have to get off the ship

Our internet minutes carried over when we kept the same cabin on b2b cruises but did not when we changed cabins on our b2b cruises. Both were shorties, so we had more than we needed and did not try to get the ones from the first leg to carry over.

I go on B2B cruises all the time and that's exactly what they do.

Although we get free minutes as Elite, the Internet Cafe Manager explained to another passenger that minutes do indeed carry over. In our case we couldn't even "buy" the package for the second leg until we used up the minutes from the first leg. HOWEVER, minutes are tied to a specific stateroom, so if you are moving to a different room you probably need to see the manager to make sure the minutes transfer.

People showing up late seems to the norm lately. I've give up on going through immigration with the ships group and just leave to do anything else- shopping, go to my car to drop off dirty laundry, go to the beach or even just go for a walk. Anythings better than sitting there for an hour waiting for inconsiderate people to show.

It may have been the case in the past but in recent years it's been automatic even if people change rooms. On our last B2B2B (Nov) the minutes carried over without a hitch even with a room change.

On a princess back to back do your internet minutes carry over. Do you have to get off the ship between legs?

Mine carried over with no problems. Did have to add minutes to the plan, as I started to run out.

A similar query re internet , but not a true B2B situation.

Booked as a 16 day cruise.

Same cruise was also being sold separately as 5 and 11 day cruises.

On "My Princess" my 16 day cruise shows as 2 cruise credits.

Question re the free minutes:

Should I expect one lot of 250 minutes ( 8-20 day cruises)

or

two lots: 150 minutes (7 days or less cruise) for 1st segment of 5 days, and then another lot of 250 minutes for the 2nd segment of 11 days ?

Sorry if this is off topic.

I just like to know what are they thinking. When they don't see anyone on the ship  Princess must go to their cabin to see if they are there. Where can they be hiding? What do they say to them when they are found and WHAT is their ANSWER!!!!!!! "I don't speak English".

They were part of my Platinum benefit. I only had a few minutes remaining at the end of my first week, but was told at the Internet Centre I had to use them before my next allocation was added. Probably my fault as I said the amount of minutes left wouldn't be enough for me to even access my email account. The guy agreed with me, put the new allocation on and I lost the minutes that were left from my first week. Sorry if I've confused anyone, it was my first time at using Internet on board:o

We just got off the Royal on B2B. Booked as 2 separate cruises and we changed rooms. I asked about the minutes (we are Elite) and was told at the desk they would not carry over. They were WRONG! Minutes carried over. As soon as they expired, the internet stopped working and we just signed up for the next amount. We were 3 days into the 10 days of the second leg.

My experience is that some benefits are by booking and some are by segment.

By the booking:

OBC from using an FCC (FCD)

stockholder's OBC

loyalty OBC for thsoe with 21 or more cruise credits

By the segment:

Platinum/Elite Internet minutes

Elite mini-bar

Suite passengers benefit of free 1st night specialty restaurant dining
