pbfp2008 Posted February 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2017 To wear upscale / business casual sweat pants to dinner in the MDR? It would be paired with a nice cardigan if that helps.

JMAE Posted February 27, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2017 The standards are not what they use to be, if they are clean and don't look like workout clothing you should be fine.

The4Cruisers Posted February 27, 2017 #17 Share Posted February 27, 2017 I don't think they would have a problem with the pants in the link. Enjoy your cruise!

sail7seas Posted February 27, 2017 #21 Share Posted February 27, 2017 (edited) What do you mean by upscale/business sweat pants? I've never heard of them so I'm curious. :D Thank you for asking. I am struggling to figure our what up/scale businss sweat pants are. I know in my arrea, anyone who cametowork in a professional, business office wearing sweat pants, might be poken with. I have never seen sweat pants I would call a good look for MDR at diner or for work in b uusiness offic e. I so hope OP can share a link to a photo off such pants or tell us where we can look on line to buy them. I would say no to the swetr pants that I am imagining but like I said, I would wish to see a photo. I should say, that way back when, it took me a little while to get used to the idea of 'nice jeans'at dinner in MDR but I am really fine ab out it now that I have learned what 'nice jeans' are. :) And yes, there , indeed, are nice jeans Edited February 27, 2017 by sail7seas
Bizmark'sMom Posted February 27, 2017 #22 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Those pants in the link would be fine. I wear stretchy J Jill pants with a long tunic to work on a regular basis. I think we all pictured nubby, slouchy pants you laze around the house in.
PrettyGirl01 Posted February 27, 2017 #23 Share Posted February 27, 2017 Sweatpants should not be worn outside of one's home.
SunnyKitty Posted February 27, 2017 #24 Share Posted February 27, 2017 well... What cruise line? I am just of NCL and they relaxed dress code a lot. Now shorts and flip flops are ok in MDR and Le Bistro asks for jeans and tshirts.. as much as I was seeing around - if you had clothes they would let you in.. SuiteTraveler Posted February 27, 2017 #25 Share Posted February 27, 2017 You can wear them, but I would think they would be warm to wear due to the heavier fabric - so if you are cruising in the Caribbean, it might be the wrong thing to bring but if you are going to Alaska, they would make sense.
