What will it take to make Carnival understand...

What will it take for Carnival to understand that we need more adult areas?
Vast amounts of passengers switching to other cruise lines leaving a large percentage of cabins unsold.

The problem seems to be that so many families with children are booking cruises that all cruise lines are apparently feeling the pressure to serve those customers more rather than less.

Sail when school is in session.

I'm in the minority that I couldn't care less if there was an adult pool or not. Or an Adult area. Plenty of places where kids aren't around.

Okay...adults already have:

Every Bar

Club

Casino

Serenity Area

Adult Comedy

Cloud9 Spa.

What else, besides a pool, do you want? Seriously...what else?

Those are exactly the places where we hang out and we're doing our first summer cruise in July. I am hoping those bar areas aren't kid friendly in July. I'm curious because I'm thinking there will be 4 X the kids on this cruise than any other cruise or vacation we've even done since they are always planned around kids being in school.

Are kids not allowed in the bars? I've had them sit next to me in the sports bar and spin on the bar stools like it's friggin McDonalds.

Well let's see. If you happen to be going on the Conquest anytime soon like we are. In fact we will be on it in a week. You can eliminate the Serenity Area and the Cloud 9 Spa from your list since the Conquest has neither. That leaves Every Bar, Club, Casino, and Adult Comedy. I fail to see any peace and quiet there at all. And this was done when we couldn't cancel without losing most or all of our cruise fare.

It is just going to make me more careful of which cruise I take on Carnival. It won't stop me from going on Carnival but I will be more selective. We found one we booked. It's next years 14 Journeys Cruise at the first part of November. We should have less kids being that it is 14 days and during the school year. And it is on the Breeze which has a Serenity area and Cloud 9 Spa.

We were on the Breeze this past Feb and there were kids wandering and running all through the casino and all over the dance floor of the Ocean Plaza. Heck, they were even sitting down in the middle of the dance floor playing their own little games while adults were trying to dance. This happened every night. So, you can count those two areas out as being for adults..

I agree with others. I don't see this changing.

But I could also flip it around and say what will it take for certain adults to grow up, don't over indulge, and don't slam doors and hold hall parties at 11-12 am?

We cruise both with and without our kids. And whether they are with us or not we have zero issue finding a quiet space - it's called our balcony. Our kids are in an inside across the hall, if they are traveling with us.

Personally, I find the week long cruises with the families quieter than the shorter 4-5 day party cruises filled with adults maxing Cheers. We never cruise to party - always to relax - and the balcony solves this issue easily - so no matter whether we are on short or long, we know what to expect and enjoy our privacy.

What will it take to make Carnival understand...?

Nothing, not this thread or any other thread is going to amount to a hill of beans. Even moving your cruising dollars to another cruise line will not even effect Carnival. For every 100 people that decide to leave Carnival for a different brand, they're 600 + waiting to take the place of those vacating the line.

The voices / opinions raised in these threads are pointless . CC is in the minority when it comes to the actual people that are cruising and have no idea what this site is .

:D :D :D

Agree...pointless indeed. I was just thinking tonight that I am glad the CC crowd is a very very small minority of the people I will see on any given cruise. Very glad.

And I am still waiting for the OP to say what they want.....

So, you know all these unruly kids have parents onboard right? So of all the people that have complained about this subject over the last couple of weeks, how many of them belong to those unruly kids? How many of those parents want some peace and quiet from those unruly kids? Blame the parents people, no matter where you are, unsupervised kids are going to be annoying because they WILL break the rules.

Blame the parents not Carnival (sorry no pool police), those aft pools had kids in them long before these threads started and the parents were on the ship somewhere...probably right at the aft pool...

that we need more adult areas? It seems their "child friendly" areas are more important then adult areas.

Losing money. Unless they lose money over the move, nothing will change. With a business, it's all about whether a change in a business practice will make them more money or lose them money. If it's the former, it was a good move. If it's the latter, it will revert back to the way it was.

There are plenty of nice quiet adult areas...your cabin and balcony being two if what you long for is peace and quiet.

Not everyone can afford or wants a balcony so 50% of your suggestion just went right out the window.

Kids can also stay in their cabins or balconies as well. ;)

Piano Bar is kid friendly until 2300. Kids are also allowed in the casino (or at least I have never seen one removed from a casino before), they just can't gamble. I have also seen kids in Serenity area and Carnival simply turning a blind eye.

Have no idea what club the first poster is talking about. The biggest "club" on board is the kid's club and no adults are allowed in there.......period. Want to make the ship family friendly, allow adults to play video games in the kid's club. ;)

As others have said losing money. If the people complaining about this change don't vote with their dollars then it won't matter (and even if they do vote with their dollars if others take their place it will also not matter).

Disagree about the bars. We haven't been able to get seats at the bar before because there were children sitting at it. The problem is that they have to go to the bars to get their sodas. There should be places (or soda machines) where children can get drinks without taking up bar stools.
