theduffys Posted June 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2017 Got an email today telling me that we were elegible for a preferred upgrade to an SS or SA suite on our TA cruise in Nov. this is on the Prinsendam and would have cost $599/per to go from a GTY AA to the suite. I have never before taken an upgrade but, since this is an anniversary trip I decided to go for it. How sad that when I called the young man apologized but said the email had been sent in error. :loudcry:
canadianbear Posted June 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2017 Oh my, that is a disappointment especially since you wanted to take it for a special occasion. I wonder how many they sent that to in error. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Florida_gal_50 Posted June 8, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 8, 2017 Sorry to hear that. That would have been the earliest upsell I've ever heard of. It would have been nice if they would have given ( for payment) it to you.
I am Lulu Posted June 9, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Sorry for you're disappointment, but maybe it was a "Bad Suite"! You'll have a great time regardless!
Rare kazu Posted June 9, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 9, 2017 That is a shame...I feel for you. But if they sent the email aren't they beholden to honour the offer? IMO, they should but I'm not a lawyer.
easyboy Posted June 9, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Would have felt the same. Maybe next time! Sent from my SGH-M919 using Forums mobile app
wesport Posted June 9, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Seems very early for upsells. Got my upsell on the Prinsendam only a couple weeks before the cruise.

So enjoy your wonderful cruise! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TOO. Denise 🤗
Rare Hlitner Posted June 9, 2017 #12 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Keep the faith. Perhaps the Upsell fairy will still strike. But it would likely happen within 2-4 weeks of your cruise. Hank
sail7seas Posted June 9, 2017 #13 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Maybe call again and ask to speak with inventory control. From what department did the e-mail you got come? Did you use a TA or PCC or did you book yourself on line?
RJ2002 Posted June 9, 2017 #14 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Very disappointing... I know it sure would disappoint me. Hopefully another offer will come along.

I certainly feel that way and I would be very assertive about it. Now to the origional poster: Get hold of a department manager if you have to. Tell him the offer was made and you accept, now honor your new contract. (I hope you printed the E-mail offer, proof is always helpful)
