First time in a Sky Suite - Tell me what I need to know

Enjoy all the extra room, along with the bathroom and balcony! Michael's Club is a great place to get water and drinks to take with you or stay inside for snacks etc. Don't be afraid to ask for items you do not see in Luminae, along with ordering off the MDR menu. Have your butler make reservations for any speciality restaurant and enjoy seating in some venues/shows. Relax and enjoy the suite life, but it is easy to get hooked[emoji844]

You need to know that you won't want to book anything but a suite in the future. Sky Suites have a nice amount of room. Michaels Club is a great place before dinner and before heading to bed. Luminae service and ambiance will spoil you. First time we ate in Luminae we had a complimentary dinner in a specialty. We went to Tuscan Grille and wished we hadn't left Luminae.

Enjoy the Suite Life.

I have stayed in S1's a couple of times:

-loved the huge balcony with an aft view (not sure if you are in and S1 or S2, but either way will have a bigger balcony than non-suites). The S1 balconies are quite private, both with some sun and shade.

-you can ask your suite attendant to bring loungers for the balcony (in addition to the reclining chairs with foot rests) - they may or may not be able to do it, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

-there is a large table on the balcony that is great for room service breakfasts. Also MDR menu dinners may or may not be served by the butler course by course (ours always has been, but others report their butlers brought the whole dinner at once). You can get the menu from the butler earlier in the day and pre-order.

-the bathrooms are quite nice, better laid out than the CS suite bathrooms, IMO.

-enjoy the Bulgari products!

-the butler will escort you to reserved second level center seats in the theatre for Chic night shows, if you wish to sit in that section.

-you will get top notch service in Luminae and we have always had great wine service in there, with a sommelier who will know your likes and dislikes by the second night.

-the Michael's Club concierge can help you with a multitude of things, including working with Guest Services if there is an issue (the cost of the suite is almost worth it not to have to stand in line at GS ;)). They can arrange special ship tours, usually have cocktail parties with the officers in Michael's and they will often have some special music events in there in the evening. The concierge can also have the Shore Excursion rep or the Future Cruise rep come to Michael's to meet with you

-boarding, disembarkation and tendering are easier when in a suite.

-and much more!

Enjoy the suite life! :D

I will be taking my 7th Celebrity cruise next month in a Sky Suite on Eclipse. I've never stayed in a Sky (or other) Suite before. What should I know??

You'll be spoiled and for your next cruise you'll be very very tempted to get a sky suite again. ;p

We were in a S2 on Equinox and then Aqua class the next sailing on Silhouette. Aq was a nice consolation choice, but I very nearly bit the bullet and did the Sky suite upgrade, though we loved AQ and would probably set that as my "minimum" on an X cruise moving forward.

Also there's no comparison between Sky Suites w/ Luminae, Michael's Club, the butler, and the suite benefits on X versus the mini-suites on Princess. X seems to be relatively unique in treating their small suites to "luxury" perks that most other lines reserve for the larger suites only... it's definitely a strong selling point to me to look at X sky suites since I don't want more room but do like the rest of the suite benefits.

Specific to sailing, inquire with the Michael's Club concierge about whether there's any special tours available as a suite guest, I've heard of bridge or galley tours offered just for the suite guests on some sailings.

The Michael's Club concierge can make, rebook, and cancel shore excursions and spa appointments. He or she can miraculously get sold out things made availabe for suite guests.

If the Michaels Club bartenders don't have what you want, they will have it for you the next time.

Ditto to all that has been said. Suites make the very large ships a small ship experience. ( I am embarrassed to say how long it took us to get back to Celebrity after assuming the big ships would just be too crowded and too hectic. Well, we skeptics were convinced otherwise after a day on Reflection and have booked out with Celebrity into late 2018.) Suites are very nice, lots of storage, good bathrooms, good locations. Watch for special events in Michaels Club arranged by the concierge. The onboard travel consultant presented the Edge and new itineraries, and spoke from personal experience. Also, we had entertainment there several evenings. Afternoon tea. AM coffee. Very impressed by guiet elegance of Luminae and enjoy the creative menus. We often ate breakfast there too. Aside from suite life, I also like the Aqua Spa cafe at lunchtime for the Greek yogurt sundaes and the interesting salads and poached fish-good stop when it is time to rein in the eating a bit! We sometimes don't have dessert at dinner, go to the show, then return to Cafe Bacio for coffee and dessert. After trying the rest, for us, Celebrity at suite level is the best. Looking forward to our September departure!

Take a bath; have your butler bring afternoon tea, finger sandwiches, and cookies; have your favorite pre-dinner drink brought to you in Michael's Club without having to wait in a que to order it; ask the suite concierge to make reservations at specialty restaurants, ask the suite concierge to personally escort you from Michaels Club off the ship during disembarkation.

Not sure butlers bring afternoon tea and finger sandwiches anymore, they are now served in Michael's Club at tea time.

We were concerned about this last cruise as most days at tea time we are resting post excursion or on sea days post afternoon siesta. We have always enjoyed the delivery as a 'wake up call'. We asked our butler if it was possible to still have our afternoon tea delivered. Every day it came at 4pm. Tea with a couple of sandwiches and scones with cream. First day they brought far too much, after that it was just what we wanted.

As our butler was on duty in Michael's some of the time it was often brought by a different butler.

Towards 5pm every day our butler came to collect the tray and check if there was anything we wanted or needed. This worked out great for us as one of the things we had been concerned about was that afternoon tea delivery had always been our 'touch base' time with the butler where we would ask him to arrange dining, discuss breakfast...

But whenever our butler (whoever it happened to be) would go through the usual first day spiel and got to the part about afternoon tea time in Michael's Club, he would always add that we could still have it served in our suite instead if we preferred.

Would you book a sky suite for a 5 day cruise on the infinity?

Absolutely. My first cruise with X was a 5-day in a Sky Suite.

Also, it's nice to have breakfast in Luminae on the morning of disembarkation. Much less rushed feeling, but sad to have to say goodbye to everyone who waited on us during our cruise.

How much time will you be spending in your room to justify the $$$$$ ???

It isn't just the room that justifies the $$$$. There is a monetary and quality value in the perks too.

I fully understand guests booking inside rooms because they expect to be busy both on board and in ports, a suite could be a waste. However, if other guests intend to enjoy relaxing in their suites, in Michael's Club and in Luminae then they will get their $$$$worth. For many guests a balcony room is great mid ground...

Great there are options to suite all.

We use to think that anything above the lowest price was a waste when younger and mostly because we didn't have the money. We felt that spending extra for a better room in a hotel, or cabin on a ship wasn't worth it because it was just a place to sleep in and more comfortable than the back seat. 😍😜 especially when we didn't spend much time in it. We eventually learned that he reason we didn't spend much time in it was because it wasn't a place that we wanted to be in. No one would want to hangout in a space with no windows or just a window to look out of.

After two cruises in a outside cabin( we never had a inside, we "splurged" on a outside) we booked a balcony guaranteed because it was the cheapest option. We found that a balcony added a lot of value and pleasure. It was nice to be able to have a cup of coffee from room service in the morning while sitting on the balcony in our robe. It is also nice to sit on the balcony before retiring in the evening enjoying a a glass of wine.

We love viewing the sail away from any port in our own private area while getting ready for the evening.

It is nice when waking up at night jand then being able to sit on the balcony enjoying the sound of the waves, star gazing and watching the ship pass thru the sea in the quite of the night.

We are looking forward to the "sweet life" that we have booked as it cost more than what we normally would like to pay but we now feel it is something at our stage in life will add a tremendous value to our cruising experience.

It basically is the difference of quality over quantity. The cost difference of being in a suite may amount to a 7 day cruise of luxury instead of 14 days of being there. We won't know unless we try it. Years ago when younger it was quantity of 2 cheeseburgers and fries at Mickey D's. Now it is a gourmet burger in the Gastro bar 🙄
