Millygirl Posted June 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2017 Hi! We've always wanted to try RCI but just haven't gotten to it yet. My husband smokes and Carnival is very accommodating. Princess is not. Are there multiple smoking sections on RCI ships and are they as nice as Carnival's for those who have utilized these areas? You can smoke in the casino and there are outside areas that you can smoke. Depending on the ship, some still have a cigar lounge, not many though. Depending on the ship, some still have a cigar lounge, not many though. It depends on the ship and where the ship is. MOST ships allow smoking in the casino. When a ship is sailing in or out of Australia, no smoking inside anywhere. There are limited smoking areas outside. Usually one side of the promenade deck (which is not the same deck # on every ship) and one side of the pool deck. I think that some ships have a smoking area on the deck above the pool deck. Quantum class ships have an enclosed area outside on Deck 5, which we call "the bus stop". ;)

dplusd Posted June 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2017 On Freedom and Voyager class ships the Deck 4 Promenade is smoking on one entire side and is never very busy. Very pretty area with lots of loungers and ash trays. Some ships in this class also have the Connoisseur Lounge on deck 5 for cigars and cigarettes are welcome too. As mentioned, most of the casino and on side of the pool deck is also designated smoking.

Actually, Princess has an inside cigar/smoking lounge as well as an outdoor area for smoking. A limited section of the Casino is smoking except for Formal nights. Daghis Posted June 25, 2017 #14 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Quantum class ships have an enclosed area outside on Deck 5, which we call "the bus stop". ;) I saw something like that on Norwegian Escape. It was like a zoo exhibit. "Look, Johnny! See the smokers in their artificial, smoke-filled habitat?"
Gwendy Posted June 26, 2017 #15 Share Posted June 26, 2017 Now if only we could get rid of the obnoxious drinkers. Those who never know when enough is enough.
