Halloween occurs during cruise

Does anyone know if Princess usually does anything for Halloween?

Trying to decide if we need to pack costumes & if there are any rules for what can't be worn.

Don't know if there are special rules about costumes, but I do know there were a lot of people dressing up for the occasion...including a lot of the crew.

IIRC there was also a "trick or treat" thing for the kids.

DW and I have both cruised a couple of times during Halloween. We brought costumes, wore them and had a great time. I haven't seen rules specific to costumes but I'd assume (I know that's dangerous) you'd want to be sure they're in good taste (that's subjective too) and aren't clearly offensive (again, subjective).

IIRC we participated in two costume parades with prizes given (crappy champagne) for various categories of costume. Again, lots of fun!

I would imagine Princess celebrates Halloween on board. We were on Celebrity for Halloween once and I was shocked at just how dressed up some guests got. We saw some really fun and creative costumes - our friends asked their room steward for flat sheets and made togas out of them!

We will be aboard Emerald Princess this Halloween. Some in the roll call are dressing up and giving treats to others who dress. I've read that many passengers do dress up for Halloween and that many crew members also dress up.

I will, of course, wear my usual "costume". I always dress as a Grandpa. In other words, I don't do anything different. (Actually, I tend to dress better when on a ship than when hanging around at home.) I know folks who always dress up for Halloween but I've just never done so myself since I was a little kid. I think it will be interesting to see what others do on this cruise.

On the Royal last year. It was Awesome! Better costumes than I would have ever thought.

That was one of the largest Halloween parties I've ever seen on Princess. There must have been over 200 + people dressed up in the Piazza for the competition event with many of very elaborate costumes !

We have always been big on celebrating and dressing up for Halloween (we do a full graveyard in the front yard).

The celebration on the Royal was the best party we have ever attended. Some very elaborate costumes and those who dressed had a wonderful evening. I'm pretty sure even those that didn't, enjoyed watching (balconies were full). The piazza at the end of the night was PACKED and the band played at least an hour after when they were scheduled to finish.

Don't hesitate - you will have a great night.
