We did a cabin crawl on the Rotterdam, and the VS is definitely nicer than the Lanai.

The BQs are probably the same size as the As and they also have private balconies. I think it's a great deal. It's a much bigger cabin.

No real advice but B122 on the Maasdam was my first ever cabin on HAL, way back in 1998! It was not a Spa Stateroom back then and the ship looked different than it does now. Somewhere I still have the personalized stationary we got -- that was back when HAL was calling those cabins Mini-Suites. It was a complimentary upgrade from the A Deck Ocean-View Cabin I had originally booked, so it was really fancy to me.

I would keep the Lanai. We had on for our 42 day trip and loved it much more than our balcony cabin we had on our 30 day trip. We sat out there much more and it was very convenient to all the parts of the ship.

I know but I'm midship now and didn't want to sacrifice Location ... worried about movement .. doesn't matter.. I already passed and ship sails today
