I used ItalyToursEU for the best of Florence/Pisa tour from the NCL epic.  The drive was waiting for me when I got off the ship.  Very easy to find.

The trip was great, driver was professional and friendly.   They did exactly what they said they would do and made it back to the cruise ship on time.

Hi Gay,

Well glad my review helped you out.  ItalyToursEU were really great.  Make sure when signing up online you keep all your email correspondence in a folder.  Sometimes, with all the tours we booked, (with this company and others), I was confused on whether we were actually signed up and confirmed?  Print your confirmation pages and bring them with you, as they will give you info as “paid, dress requirements, meeting places, etc.

Have a great time!

Colleen

Colleen, thank you.  I have a 1" binder all with tab divers by Port, usually I have a folder but with so many ports and Tours decided to go with the Binder this time. Like for Rome and Naples etc, the Emails from Christina include the descriptions of the tours and the Booking/Paid confirmation emails. & pick up Times. I have also added her to my Cell Phone Contacts. This will be a first for the daughter & I . We would have loved to do the Greek Isle but this will give us a nice start then we have the TA following back to Miami. My husband & I did a lot of cruising but his last one was our 2017 Copenhagen TA on the Serenade. He wanted so much to go on the Oasis for the Spring of 2018 but had to cancel it so now the daughter is joining me.. Daughter is working in Aurora during the winter at the Amazon Wherehouse until her Spring Jobs open back up again.

We enjoyed our visits to Pisa & Florence with Italy Tours earlier in November very much. Both our driver and guide were very informative. Franco picked us up at the pier, got us to Pisa early before the crowds arrived, and got us safely back to the ship from Florence despite the heavy rain & traffic. He was great. And we appreciated the insights Alessia shared about the important sights. We hope to return some day and see more.

It was a very good day!

We were very impressed with Italy Tours - it was very organized and we enjoyed the small group.

We also was impressed with the over all communication from the initial contact to the actual tour. The drivers and guides were knowledgeable and shared the important information and also allowed us to just appreciate the scenery.

The overall comfort on the buses was better than expected.  I have very long legs and am "Hippie" so comfort was a highlight of the tours.

We were very glad to participate in the tours.  After hearing some of the experiences that others on the ship had on their large group tours, we were very happy with the experiences we had with Italy Tours and would highly recommend them to others that are planning a trip in Italy .  We will certainly use them again if our travels bring us back to the beautiful country of Italy .

Breakdown of our tours

Livornio for Florence and Pisa -October 15 -  Had a wonderful driver and very interesting guide.  Enjoyed the entire day. Was very crowded in Florence , but laughed when the driver said it was a small crowd.  Hate to see it during high season.  We saw the highlights of the cities and have a desire to go back to see more in detail. Loved it

Naples - Classic Amalfi Coast - October 23 -  I must say this was one of my favorite tours of the entire 36 day cruise.  The scenery was just breathtaking and our driver was amazing.  To be able to drive so well and made all of us very comfortable in his hands.  I am still going through the amazing photographs from this journey.

Loved the tours!!

We were on the NCL Epic in Nov 2019 and used Italy tours for our 3 Italian ports and also Canne.  Booking was easy with them and communication was excellent through email prior to the cruise.  Meeting up with each tour was easy as they had signs with our name on them.

Our first tour was Pompei and the Amalfi Coast with a overlook of Positano and a stop in the beautiful town of Sorrento.  Our tour guide was great and very informative and the driver was very impressive on that coastline drive!

Our next tour was Rome.  We had over an hour's drive from the port but our drive was comfortable and Leandro our driver was very good.  We went to the Colosseum, Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps and the Pantheon with a quick lunch break.  We then went to the Vatican and were met there by our Vatican tour guide.  After our amazing tour of the Vatican, we met Leo again and headed back to the port.  It was a fantastic day!

The final Italian port was Livorno with a Florence and Pisa tour.  Pisa was interesting and we had some free time to explore there before the drive to Florence.  It was a gorgeous drive through the Tuscan countryside and into Florence.  What a city!  We were met by our walking tour guide and were given a great tour through the city.  She was very knowledgeable and gave us tips on where and what to eat afterwards. We had a short amount of free time to explore a bit and grab some lunch before heading back to the port.

Our tour from Cannes was great.  We stopped in Nice and then proceeded along the coast to Monaco with a stop to explore and see the Casino which was not opened as yet.  We then proceeded to Eze which was incredible!  Marcine, our driver was fantastic and gave us lots of information on the area.  Great day!

I would highly recommend Italy tours.  The cost is so much less than the cruise ship excursions, a much smaller group and in comfortable vehicles with quality tour guides.

I had the pleasure of using the services of Italy Tours (www.Italytours.eu) for several tours during my recent Mediterranean cruise. I used them for the following tours:

1.      NAPLES – POMPEII, SORRENTO & THE AMALFI COAST

Great tour, including Pompeii with guide, and a wonderful home-made lunch at a farm to                                table restaurant.

2.      ROME – BEST OF ROME & VATICAN

Hit every major attraction in Rome, with time for a casual lunch and expertly guided tour of                            The Vatican.

3.      LIVORNO – BEST OF FLORENCE & PISA

Great day, plenty of time in each city. Expert guide in Florence, and a wonderful ride through                          the hillsides of Italy

4.      CANNES – THE BEST OF THE FRENCH RIVIERA

Another great tour, catching all of the sites along the way. Ample time at each stop, and our                          driver made sure we got to Monaco in time for the changing of the guard ceremony. The                                Village of Eze was amazing.

On every tour the drivers and tour guides were very pleasant, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They made for very pleasant days. This is a great small family owned business, and they communicate with you every step of the way and respond to any questions quickly. You are not a number on a large tour bus to them, you are part of a small group that receives a fabulous experience. I highly recommend using Italytours.eu for your tours while in port. Prices are affordable, employees are friendly, and they make sure your experience is memorable.

We used Italy Tours EU for two shore excursions during our recent cruise in November 2019 - Best of Tuscany from Livorno port and Positano, Amalfi and Ravello from Naples.

Both guides were waiting on shore for us when we got off the ship, with our names on a clipboard so they were easy to spot and we were back in plenty of time before the ship sailed in the afternoon.

The guides were very knowledgeable, spoke good English and the vans were clean and comfortable.

We saw some lovely countryside in Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast was spectacular.
The tours through this company were way cheaper than the ship's excursions and we really enjoyed them.

During our November 2019 cruise, we used ItalyTours.EU for two shore excursions.  We did “The Best of Tuscany” with Carlo and “Positano, Amalfi & Ravello” with Mirko.  Both drivers were friendly, spoke English well and were knowledgeable.  The vans were comfortable for our groups of 8 and 7.

The Tuscany countryside and Amalfi Coast are truly beautiful!

We enjoyed both tours and will definitely use this company again when we visit Italy in the future.

We recently used Italy Tours for their French Riviera Tour with Guy, and their Marseilles, Aix-en-Provence and Cassis tour with Silvio (plus we used their Spain Tours for 3 other excellent tours). All tours were semi-private.

They were both excellent tours.

While there was less to see in the French Riviera tours (other than to try to comprehend the mind-blowing $ and € numbers), Guy acceded to our request to see the Japanese Gardens in Monaco, gave clear instructions to one person so that she could see a synagogue in Nice, and made sure to slow down as much as possible so that we could take some scenic pictures. He was also great in providing an insight into these areas more than what you see in the press. His knowledge of the area is encyclopedic, e.g, while waiting for some members of the group to join us, he took us around a corner in Nice and showed us a building which had balconies and windows painted on it t look like the real thing!

Plus, there was a concern that our ship may have had to tender us ashore (fortunately it did not), and the tour has a tightly-packed schedule. Italy Tours gave us clear instructions as to what to do nd how to contact the other members so as to maximize our time ashore.

Silvio was one of the best guides I have had in all my travels. He hails from Italy, but has spent a lot of time in France, and so he was able to give us a unique slant on things other than just what we were seeing. And we saw more than we ever expected! When we went to the first stop, Aix-en-Provence, as we were driving into the parking garage, we noticed a poster for an exhibition of Japanese Woodblocks in some museum. My wife and I are both extremely interested in these, and during the free time, Silvio (and his wife, who was the guide for another bus for the same tour) accompanied us to the museum, asked the sales people questions about the exhibition, and told us how to get back to the bus. Although we had to rush through the exhibit, we were so pleased to do that instead of just going to someplace to have lunch. When we were in Cassis, we requested to spend the minimal amount of time there, as we all wanted to spend more time in Marseille, and he readily agreed. Similarly, on the way back to the ship, he made several detours in Marseille to show us things that were not on the original schedule (including a building that had survived WW II, and had been raised on jacks and turned 90° so that the prettier sides were facing the street and not the bombed sites).

In addition to all this, communication with the staff at Italy Tours was extremely easy, fast and responsive. It was a pleasure to avail of their services, and I have already recommended them to others.

We have 3 tours booked with Italy tours but am interested in your Marseille tour including Cassis. What was your opinion of seeing Cassis and would you recommend the daughter & I do this tour or take the 4.5 hour tour with the ship. My concern is being in Port 9 hours and doing an 8 hour tour. with Italy tours. The tours we do have with Italy tours, we are in port longer.

We took this tour in September and highly recommend.  Our driver/guide was excellent, our tour did start early so we were off the ship before the larger ship tours even started. Our guide kept us on schedule always advising us of how much time we had, when and where to meet when we had free time.  It was the first tour of our cruise so we were also a little concerned about the time but definitely no worries. We were returned to the ship with lots of time to spare, highly recommend ItalyTours!  Enjoy, wish we were going again!

Thank you, at the moment they have not reached the minimum number so haven't received the payment instructions from Christina but have enjoyed working with her for Florence/Pisa, Rome & Naples.

Four of us booked two tours in December with Italytours.eu, and both tours were terrific.  We booked first to take us from our Rome hotel to the port in Civitavecchia to meet our ship, but we asked to spend much of the day touring before going to the ship.  We went first to Lake Bracciano and then to the sites in Tarquinia and the museum in town.  Our driver was excellent and gave us much information as we rode.  He stayed with the car at our stops, so we didn't worry about our luggage.  We recommend this kind of tour to make great use of a day of transport.

The other tour we booked with Italy Tours was from the port in Marseille touring Aix-en-Provence, Cassis, and Marseille.  Again we had an outstanding driver/guide who told us so much about the places we visited.  We had free time to explore the markets in Aix and Cassis but saw so much of the towns and the countryside and coast.  It was a full day but worth every minute.  We did not worry about their getting us back in time to sail - they know how to manage the time allowed.

Cristina was organized and so easy to work with, and I'd definitely book again with them.

Traveling Elf, and others.

RE: the Amalfi Coast tour -   We are looking at this one,  and might invest in a Private Tour.

Can you remember who your driver was, where you were able to eat lunch, and more details.

I imagine we will have seen SOOOOO many ruins by then, I am looking forward to just touring and chilling and enjoying the beauty of the Italian coastline.

We will be taking the same tour during our trip in October in fact all our tours are booked with Italy tours except for Palma de Mallorca, we will see the Drach Caves via the Ship tours. Since we already have a group tour booked with our Roll Call during the TA, we didn't want to do a full tour during the Western Med.

Hi Mike, May I ask with the Best of Florence and Pisa if you had enough time in Pisa to look through the cathedral or was it only enough time to get pictures outside the Leaning Tower. I'm not interested in climbing the tower but would love to look the the church.

We booked the "Pompeii, Sorrento and Amalfi Coast" tour and the driver was waiting for us by the cruise ship when we got off the ship.  There were 16 of us in one van.  The van was very comfortable with nice air conditioning and the driver was informative and he drove us around safely.  We had a guided tour of Pompeii, then 2 hrs free time in Sorrento, followed by a scenic drive along a small section of the Amalfi Coast.  We saw plenty during the day and the price is hard to beat, especially compared to what the ship charged.  Next time I go back to Italy, I would definitely book another tour with Italy Tours.

We are taking this tour in May.  What were the entrance fees?

Patti, there is a sister company for Barcelona (Barcelona Day Tours). We will be doing a half day tour on one of our two pre-cruise days. They were equally attentive to our emails and questions.

To anyone who has done the Rome & Vatican tour - do you recall what sights in Rome you visit? The website only states the Vatican and Colosseum. Do you have any time to tour on your own? Did you feel herded around?

As huge as Rome is there is no tour package that will cover it all. If you try to do it yourself you will find yourself in huge queues. Especially if you want to enter some of the most famous museum and art galleries (Academy Museum). I would suggest getting a tour to those museums and other exhibitions via your agencies cause you wont have to waste your time in queues and spend the rest of your free time just exploring the city yourself. Also read some tour guides on the internet about visiting Vatican and Rome. I am sure you will get some nice tips.

Thanks, I have been to Rome a number of times, and know exactly what I want to see. Ideally, I would like to do Rome on my own, but am considering this tour if it goes to where I am planning.
