I hope the can determine the cause and, hopefully, it wasn't because of someone driving 80 mph in a 30 mph zone as, apparently, an AMTRAK train was trying to do.

Two of my friends are on Serenade now. I so hope they did not decide to take this tour. They had not made any plans prior to sailing other than enjoy the casino. Now I will have to worry until the ship returns.

Just read a report on the Celebrity boards stating that the driver fled the scene after the accident. I can't even imagine what type of human you would have to be to abandon all those people in that situation, if true.

OMG that is just terrible news. I can't imagine the pain the survivors are going through and the lose of family members. We actually have taken this tour and it's a long way out on pretty bad roads. After a gazillion years of cruising and experiencing some pretty terrible conditions in places like Venezuela etc we just don't take any excursions anymore or pick and choose very carefully.

Passengers from Celebrity and Royal. Was a ship sponsored tour.... Not that I'd have been on same bus but I was going do this tour today. But finishing B2B2B and getting off this Friday decided to lay of balcony and chat online with Grand kids. So sad for my fellow passengers...
