In the Daily under the Daily Pour Section they list World Class Bar HH bogo at the Sunset Bar. Did that really take place? Seems rather odd that they would hold that there when the WCB was open during those same hours.

Drink up 🍹🍸🍺🍻🍷🥂🍾🥃

For the first half of our day in St. Croix we took the ship’s excursion Kayak Adventure at Historical Christopher Columbus Landing Site. The title is a misnomer as you will not visit the landing site itself but will be in the proximity and the guide will point out areas around that they explorers did visit. The tour starts with pick up at the ship followed by a 30 minute drive. The driver was friendly and gave lots of information about the island. It is still in recovery mode from the hurricane in September and you see a lot of damage during the drive. Nearly all traffic lights are still out and some neighborhoods are still without power. More time is spent prepping to go kayaking and then wrapping up after (probably a good 45 minutes combined). The actual kayaking time itself was only about 1hr 20min. You spend the first hour going around an area with mangroves and a few sunken ships that’s moderately interesting. Then you visit a beach which is the closest point to the Columbus landing site. Beach was very pretty but water was not clear and there were a lot of shells and coral. They provide bottles of water and a granola bar. After about 30 minutes at the beach you kayak back to your start point. Then it’s a 30 minute ride back to port. Overall, it was a relatively uninteresting trip but I struggled to find something of interest to do on St. Croix and since they don’t have fantastic beaches this was the next best choice. I would recommend if you aren’t kayaking at another port and want something different to do. It was expensive though at $145 pp. 6aaeb93ca9e1218c375e1c4fc83d15aa.jpg01656315f2abf2ff0b61d6243497db40.jpg6dc6c507f082172adcec7cd1c38a0a47.jpg7d15eb17f07645bb19edabcba681c0d5.jpg9d5740a9fc0dffc62c1edeabb01c26b3.jpg295f385f0cb06ee4b867815df8578f24.jpg

After we came back from our excursion we showered and headed to Oceanview for lunch; it was a Mexican themed lunch today. After lunch we took a walk back down to the port town. There were a few shops and some vendors selling things in some tents near the port entrance but we didn’t see much that interested us so we headed back to the ship and up to Deck 15 to hang out at the Lawn and have some drinks until sailaway.d09bf4eca9db18b1c4b4fc60a20455b5.jpg0a7cdb7c5989ea886a12c746fb956305.jpgf1afc0b6e472cfb5aa1921e0c9e90fd7.jpg6d8c44568d47e9741cc9163ada88fb1e.jpg76d1bec51e60fab3785f48868b4c4b3a.jpg

Following your review, as we board when you get off. Beautiful wedding pictures, especially the rainbow shot. We have not been to St. Croix, so enjoyed your review for what you did there. Also, so glad to hear they have the Mexican day at the buffet. We love their nachos and trimmings!

Have you noticed if there is an increase in sick passengers with colds/flu? On the RC boards, there is a live from the Anthem, and OP was stating there are many sick passengers with coughs/flu, with as many as 20% of passengers, and its not the Noro Virus.

Have a great rest of your cruise, and we will wave to you as you leave the Silhouette!

Have not noticed an abundance of sick passengers here. I’ll come across the cougher here and there but no one has appeared to be very sick.

Catching up from last night’s events. For dinner we ate at the Lawn Club Grill. This was our first visit here as prior to this cruise we had only ever been on ships that do not offer the grill. So we were very excited to try this venue. Unfortunately it turned out to be one of our worst dining experiences ever with Celebrity. Server was so caught up in chit-chatting with the table next to us that he never took our drink order and then we had to chase him for various things through the rest of the meal (and the restaurant was half empty). Steaks were undercooked based on temperatures requested and the quality of the filets was not comparable to Luminae or Tuscan (where we had by coincidence had filet the previous two nights). The side dishes were an absolute joke; the lobster Mac and cheese was like some cafeteria velveeta concoction with one tiny lump of chewy lobster, the corn and rice were flavorless, and the blueberry cobbler dessert was like it came out of a can. Really, really shocking that this was from a specialty restaurant at Celebrity. There was some good though; the flatbread pizza was amazing, as was the cookie dessert and the salad bar had a nice selection and the bratwurst was fine. The location is wonderful up on the lawn at night while you’re at sea, but that atmosphere was ruined by them blasting 80’s heavy metal music like Motley Crue and Guns ‘n Roses in the Restaurant. (Strangely enough this is a trend on this ship as they have been blasting heavy metal at the casino too). Anyway, we have never had to raise an issue like this to a restaurant manager on board before save for once several years ago over an issue at the buffet. We gave him the positives and the negatives. He was open to listening mostly and got only a little bit defensive. When he wasn’t offering any resolution to the problem though, like a “come back and give us another try on us” or some such (even though we had no plan on returning) then I had to insist that Cindy and John have the fees waived. Especially since none of us even finished our entrees or sides fully as we didn’t care for them. We are not ones to seek compensation normally for issues like this but there were just so many things wrong with this meal that it had to be said. I would advise caution about eating here, at least on Silhouette anyway.05fedc7d287fffb00a9ad8c7dd421e1c.jpgdc214583771e09104c801536ed0078e9.jpg96b49c2b0e7704f8877d263fa4d75491.jpg60bf6aa8a791652b02d845af4cd477ad.jpgf728270d77cf95c22b2ea7f9c14e4751.jpg

Hi WonderMan Adam, & Mike! When you're getting off the ship on 1/26, we'll be getting on--can't wait! (Hello msteries!) So I'm excited to follow along with you on your journey. Thanks so much for taking the time to share.

When you're settled in, please report on what entertainment is offered--house band, etc--and the nightly entertainment in the theatre.

Enjoy your cruise!

Maybe I missed it, but any thoughts/comments on the House Band and Guitarist?
