GTO-Girl Posted January 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Does anyone know if this would be a problem taking off the ship in Cozumel? That is the only kind my husband has and I really don’t want to buy a new one. Thanks!!!
Clarea Posted January 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2018 I've heard about laws against camo clothing in Barbados and Antigua, but not Cozumel.

Pellaz Posted January 18, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Not a problem in Cozumel, but Barbados, Antigua, Costa Rica and Dominica (I believe) have proscriptions about camo clothing or accessories.....even wallets.
cruiseguy1016 Posted January 18, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Not a problem in Cozumel, but Barbados, Antigua, Costa Rica and Dominica (I believe) have proscriptions about camo clothing or accessories.....even wallets. I think Belize can be added to this list. We were there a few years ago and I'm pretty sure camo was banned there also.
UKWLDCruise Posted January 18, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 18, 2018 I would add Gibraltar to the list, not because it is banned but the apes are used to being fed by soldiers so can get excited by Camo or even by green pattern clothing, bags. dcgrumpy Posted January 18, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 18, 2018 I may be wrong but I think St Kitts is one too.
dd likes to cruise Posted January 18, 2018 #12 Share Posted January 18, 2018 Just to have an extra something, we keep one of those string type of bags that you can put on your back. Just made of fabric and quite cheap. Actually been given a few as freebies over the years. Might not be bad to have something like that just in case. Doesn't take any room in the luggage either. If I'm not carrying tons of stuff, we like it better.

dcgrumpy Posted January 18, 2018 #14 Share Posted January 18, 2018 St Kitts is ok... I must be thinking of somewhere else. I remember telling my son to change his cargo shorts.

Yep, I carry one for use on ship to bring stuff to a deck chair...small spare towel, sunscreen, wide-brim hat, etc. They're also handy for shore excursions except when I'm bringing my own swim fins, as I haven't found a string backpack big enough yet. :)
CTCruiser76 Posted January 20, 2018 #17 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Hi - I have never heard this before - is this really true about no Camo colored clothing or items on these islands?
davekathy Posted January 20, 2018 #18 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Hi - I have never heard this before - is this really true about no Camo colored clothing or items on these islands? Yes! The warning will also be published in your Cruise Compass for the next day port if there is a restriction on wearing camouflage or accessories. I have seen people stopped before exiting the ship and turned back.
39august Posted January 20, 2018 #19 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Definitely true. Don't plan on wearing camo in many Caribbean islands.
sfaaa Posted January 20, 2018 #20 Share Posted January 20, 2018 But army OD or SWAT black are ok. Go figure.
cb at sea Posted January 20, 2018 #21 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Camouflage isn't allowed in most Caribbean countries. Leave that stuff at home. Only military is allowed camo clothing.
