shrinkrap Posted January 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2018 I would like to add a fifth person to the RC Owners suite Eastern Med next September. Anything I need to look out for? I've read some threads about conflicting deals, but I don't understand. The current deal is a second person sails half off, or something similar. Thanks in advance. 1025cruise Posted January 22, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2018 First thing to be worried about is whether or not the room accommodates 5 passengers. Next will be whether or not there is still capacity.
RJ2002 Posted January 22, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I'd check the deck plan for your ship to see if the OS can accomodate 5 persons before you call.

Next will be whether or not there is still capacity. Thank you! It is a two bedroom and the suite is said to hold eight, so that shouldn't be a problem, but I understand the rescue boat situation might be. Also, I'm having trouble estimating cost. Would it be about one fifth of the current cost of the suite plus taxes and fees? Does the fifth person in a suite pay any less than the first two or three or four or..... http://www.royalcaribbean.com/multimedia/popup/stateRoomLocator/validated.do?cabincls=D&cabinType=OT&cabinCode=7672&catgty=false&popuptype=schematicImage&shipCode=JW>y=false&shipProfile=1832&sailDate=1180927

You have to call them to get the cost. You are also correct that the muster station could fill up, so I'd to this ASAP.
shrinkrap Posted January 22, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted January 22, 2018 So...... don't hold out for the next BOGO promotion? :halo: According to "mycruises", we sail in about 250 days. We have a TA, and I will get on it ASAP.
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 22, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 22, 2018 I would call them. You lose nothing from the call. Keith
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 22, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 22, 2018 The biggest concern you will have is the capacity of the lifeboat -- they do have limits as to how many people are assigned to each lifeboat. Until you talk to RCI, you will not know how well and how many people are already assigned to your lifeboat.
cb at sea Posted January 22, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 22, 2018 No standard cabin will hold 5 on RCI. You may have to "rearrange" cabin occupants and you will need another cabin, unless you're in a suite that will hold 5 or more. And, even if you are in a large suite, that doesn't mean you can add a person.

Krazy Kruizers Posted January 22, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Do let us know what RCI says about adding a 5th person to your cabin.
shrinkrap Posted January 23, 2018 Author #14 Share Posted January 23, 2018 Will do! Last time we booked a suite with only four people it seemed we needed special permission because we didn't have five. They let us go with four without much "ado". This time they let me book with four, no questions asked.
shrinkrap Posted January 24, 2018 Author #15 Share Posted January 24, 2018 An update; it's going to cost $580.09. I think this is the same as we paid for the fourth person.

shrinkrap Posted January 24, 2018 Author #17 Share Posted January 24, 2018 Not bad at all! Of course, if I recall correctly, the first person costs more than 10 times that!

So did you add the 5th person already? Remember, they can run out of muster station slots.

That's going to be up to the fifth passenger ( my sister). I've passed on the information, although perhaps not the urgency.
