Nic6318 Posted February 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Wanting to take an east coast cruise. Ports I definitely want to see are Bar Harbor and Nantucket Island. What cruise line visits these two ports? Hi there Check "American Cruise Lines", I know they have ships that stop at Bar Harbor and Nantucket, but I don't know if they have an itinerary that stops at both on the same sailing. Their ships are not like the mass market cruise lines. good luck with your search have a great cruise
sail7seas Posted February 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2018 HAL visits Barr Harbor weekly from late spring through summer. I don't know of a cruise line that goes to Nantuckerd. We once went to Marth'as Vineyard on HAL b ut that was some while ago. We never stopped at Nantucket on a cruise.
1025cruise Posted February 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2018 I can't think of any mainstream line that stops at Nantucket.
Rare Keith1010 Posted February 6, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2018 I can't think of any mainstream line that stops at Nantucket. I agree. Most who visit Bar Harbor are New England/Canada cruises and don't stop at Nantucket. Keith
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 6, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2018 We have done several different versions of Canada/New England cruises and none stopped at Nantucket. I checked American Cruise Lines. Only 1 itinerary stops at Nantucket but not Bar Harbor. The other itineraries stop at Bar Harbor but not Nantucket. diane.in.ny Posted February 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2018 This cruise line stops in Nantucket https://www.blountsmallshipadventures.com/2018-islands-of-new-england/ This is nothing like a mainstream cruise line. The ships are small and the cabin is small. That said, we have sailed this line many years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed our trip.
TruckerDave Posted February 6, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 6, 2018 Fly to Boston, rent a car drive to Nantucket Island (take a ferry across the water), visit said island. Maybe even visit Martha's Vineyard while you are in the area. Return to Boston and board mainstream cruise line for trip up the New England coast to Bahh Habahh. rdsxgrl28 Posted February 6, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 6, 2018 Seabourn Cruises stop in Bar Harbor, no Nantucket. They also stop in Salem, MA which is kinda cool.

You really can't drive to either Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. Yes, rent a car in Boston and drive the either Falmouth [Woods Hole ]or Hyannis, park the car there and take the high speed ferry to either island. The big old ferry is the one that carries cars and its best to make reservations$$$$ if you want a car to explore the islands. Better, rent bikes on the island and explore the area, maybe a night on either of the islands. To truly enjoy Maine, keep the rental car and drive up the coast. I prefer Booth Bay Harbor. 1025cruise Posted February 7, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 7, 2018 I enjoy going to Booth Bay. Nice, quiet town. My aunt has a summer residence there.
