I am going on Oceania Mediterranean cruise to Barcelona, Toulon France, St Tropez, Florence/Tuscany/Pisa, Rome, Alicante, Malaga, Seville and Lisbon.

I would love recommendations on good Oceania sponsored excursions or recommendations for private tours. Thank you!!

These links will take you to the boards that have been mentioned.

Oceania at:

Mediterranean at:

When you visit the ports of call board it would be very helpful for you to list the ports rather then countries you are visiting as places like Italy and France have lot of unique ports.

Welcome to cruise critic!

I can recommend some private and small group tours based on our Western Med and Transatlantic on Princess last fall:

Barcelona - Barcelona Day Tours is a great company. They offer half and full day small group van tours.

Toulon - we (family group of 6) hired William (Guillaume) Bertrand of Provence Trips and Tours (http://www.provence-trips.com/. He is knowledgeable, informative and entertaining and will design a tour for you. We went to Sanary sur Mer as a first stop before any other tourists arrived and visited the town and the open air market, then went to Bandol and visited a wonderful winery for a wine tasting that included a visit to the family's private museum of wine making implements, and then had a lovely lunch in a hill town overlooking Castelet.

Seville - we used Spain Day Tours but be aware that if your ship anchors in Cadiz it is about a 1 1/2 hour drive to/from Seville. It is a beautiful city and well worth a visit.

As others have said, check out the France Ports of Call Board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=593; the Spain Board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=596; the Italy Board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=595; and the other Mediterranean Ports Board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=234. I've also found TripAdvisor useful when researching private and small group excursions.

You can also check out the roll call of other cruisers on your cruise on the Oceania Roll Call Board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=420. Chose your ship and then look for the thread with your embarkation date in the title.

Really agree with Barcelona day tours really enjoyed that and the city. We did all private tours with other members from roll call, my favorite tour was papillon which was for pisa then Florence then a wine tasting at a vineyard, driver tour guide was really great , they will also buy tickets for the museum to see David which is a must.
