39august Posted March 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2018 Our first cruise on Celebrity in Dec. we waited in the designated concierge area to debark. We are Elite due to RCI membership. Do the elite passengers get priority debarkation over those in the concierge class cabins? If so, we will wait in that area next time.

Do the elite passengers get priority debarkation over those in the concierge class cabins? If so, we will wait in that area next time. Just about everyone gets "priority" embarkation. Zeniths and Suites really have priority, the others should just go to the fastest line you are qualified to use.
CHEZMARYLOU Posted March 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2018 Disembarkation is based on your luggage tag number. You can wait in either area and leave when your number is called.
Orator Posted March 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2018 All baggage tags with the same number will be able to leave together. Go to the most comfortable area to wait for your tag to be called.
jkgourmet Posted March 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2018 Or do self service carry off and leave when you want.
lb0103 Posted March 12, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2018 We are elite and go to that lounge, it is usually closer to the exit so not as much dragging of bags, but it really doesn't matter you go when your number is called.

phoenix_dream Posted March 12, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 12, 2018 Or do self service carry off and leave when you want. And please don't do this unless you have an early flight. So much abuse of a system that was originally intended to help people make their flights. Now it's turned into a 'I don't feel like waiting my turn so I will clog up the elevators and disembarkation area by hauling my own luggage off the ship, and getting in the way of people who really need it' event. End of rant.

Gonzo70 Posted March 13, 2018 #10 Share Posted March 13, 2018 Are elites still escorted off early in the process? Your loyalty club status has nothing to do with when you leave - you are assigned a number based primarily on your flight time. There is just a lounge area set aside where elite Captain Club members can wait for their number to be called. Only suites and zenith members of Captain Club are escorted off. Anybody can sign up to be off early - regardless of stateroom type of Captain’s Club status.
Sittin'OnTheDock Posted March 13, 2018 #11 Share Posted March 13, 2018 Can't say this works on every ship, but we took our high luggage numbers to the service desk on Royal and asked if we could get a lower number...the answer...sure, what number do you want? I said 5 would be grand and that's what they gave me.

You probably still would get home before anyone flying. Things to do? Don't we all. Work that day? The only legitimate reason listed. I still maintain it is selfish to use this service merely for convenience with no regard for those who really need it. Your convenience could cause someone to miss their flight and get home hours or even days later. A little consideration for other passengers is my preferred way of living. My opinion. That might be your opinion,. but Celebrity's policy is that anyone can self-disembark for ANY reason they desire.
Rare hcat Posted March 13, 2018 #14 Share Posted March 13, 2018 We switched to self disembark after an incident with misplaced luggage. Our belongings go where we go as much as possible when we travel. We pack lighter and get off the ship early as we can....esp with the inevitable backups at Customs. Orator Posted March 13, 2018 #15 Share Posted March 13, 2018 That might be your opinion,. but Celebrity's policy is that anyone can self-disembark for ANY reason they desire. Correct! No one ever asks why you choose to self-disembark as it is exclusively your choice. So long as you can carry off your own baggage you can self-disembark. Let's flip that around and ask people to stop booking early flights. That way, they won't be in the way of others with valid reasons to depart early. Or simply follow Celebrity's policy allowing everyone access to early departure.
Rare cruisestitch Posted March 13, 2018 #17 Share Posted March 13, 2018 Back to the OP's question, as Orator said, for most people the order of disembarking the ship is by baggage tag number and you may go to either waiting area to wait for your number to be called. Or you can wait in any of the public areas.
