I was one who reported on the other thread that I had 1 cruise of 3 on Equinox in the last year and a half where we were asked not to remove drinks. Even then it was restricted to alcohol, soft drinks and water were not a problem. That cruise was Nov of 2016. BTW I had a premium drink package on that sailing.

 

 

That's really odd. We were also on the Equinox in November of 2016 and never had an issue walking out with a drink . Was Jole' still the MC Concierge when you were on board?

Interesting. Most if not all of the MC's have commercial-grade Nespresso machines so not sure why the need to go to Cafe al Bacio unless for something very special.

That is true but many times the coffee that comes out of these machines is undrinkable.

No matter what type of suite I've been in, I've never been told I couldn't take waters or sodas back to my cabin. They usually urge more on me when I tell them I'm taking them back to my cabin. Obviously no need to do this if you're in the penthouse or a royal suite, your butler will keep your refrigerator stocked with whatever you request.

If someone had told me no, I would very definitely have escalated it to the suite manager or even the hotel director if necessary. Given the price Celebrity is charging for its suites, one shouldn't hear "no" very much if at all.

I have done TA’s without a beverage package and never had an issue walking out with anything. I hope Celebrity doesn’t start this to save more money in the future...It will be interesting to see what happens on Edge, especially with all the changes...

Too bad that happened - I would have complained to the newly created Suites Manager on board. Your experience is an exception rather than the rule - at least in my experiences with Michael's Club on many cruises.

 

This was before the Suite Manager position was created. It didn't bother me in the least as I had a premium package. I believe it had something to do with the F&B manager at the time. At least that's what the MC bartender told me one night when I was in there talking with her. Yes it is the only time I've experienced it in over 1/2 dozen cruises in MC.

I also commented, on a different thread, that I had observed someone being told they could not take drinks is out of Michael’s. I have only seen it happen that one time, and, it was early on with the perks being included. It is pretty clear that now, with or without the beverage package, you may take drinks, alcoholic and non, out of Michael’s.

 

Whether in a Sky suite (as a solo) or in an a CS with my SO, the Butler has always kept me/us supplied with water and soda. Occasionally, he also provided some adult beverages as well.

Traveling for the first time in a Sky Suite on a recent cruise on the Millennium, I simply asked the Michael's Club concierge for the policy concerning taking a drink from the lounge. He told me that they preferred that I leave with a full glass and, certainly, that I should have a full glass before I went to dinner.

 

It was a repositioning cruise so no beverage package came with the reservation, and we didn't purchase one. No problem at all having the butler put water in the room, both still and sparkling.

 

At no time was I made to feel uncomfortable about leaving with a drink.

 

I also read the thread where the people were told not to leave Michael's Club with a beverage and where they were declined beverage service. It really made me puzzled.

 

I think this depends very much on who is staffing Michael's Club, specifically the Concierge. When we were last in a suite (without drink package) on the Millie, we were told we could NOT take a glass of wine or any other drink out of Michael's to go to dinner. I do wish they would clarify and standardize this policy.

As a newbie, I am totally confused. We are taking our first Celebrity cruise in three weeks and are staying in a Royal Suite. One reason that we booked Celebrity is Michael's Club and Luminae. It sounds as if anyone an go into Michael's Club. Is this true? If not, who is permitted access to Michael's Club?

Only Suite guests are permitted in Michael’s Club. It is a great benefit.

What I thought was amazing at least on our cruise was Micheals was never crowded at least on our cruise, also always seated asap at luminae , never waited more than a couple of minutes. Looking forward to next cruise on celebrity and micheals and luminae on infinity.

As Michael, aka Xport, has noted high Blue Chip members can also be admitted to Michael's Club. But two years ago on one of our cruises there was a couple who were considering an apparently very large purchase from Park West's "art" auctions who were included in the MC. I've always wondered if they indeed made the purchase and, if so, what was the dollar amount of that purchase.

If you look at the following thread--specifically, post #16--you'll find a chart [i don't see it on the Celebrity website] that states that a Blue Chip Club member needs 100,000 or more tier points--in that program--in order to gain access to Michael's Club... If you then go to the Celebrity website and search "Blue Chip Club" you will quickly find that one needs to do some very serious gaming--points earned vary with type of play [table games/average bet, slots, video poker]--the math is simple--in order to amass 100,000 Blue Chip tiers points... I understand that Blue Chip tier status is reevaluated periodically...

I have never personally seen other "big spenders" [shops/Park West] granted access to Michael's Club but if Northern Aurora [Hi, G... Good to "see you" here; hope that you and C are well and happy!] reports having witnessed it, I am confident it must [i suspect, very rarely] occur...

No “bending of rules”. That has always been the policy. Suite guests, Zeniths and VIP guests. Included in that last category have been ship godmothers, a US Senator, Blue Chip guests , and others.
