Face Book poster reports water poring from the ceiling into the Casino on the Dawn.  In addition there posting that windows on 3 decks broke due to large waves?  Anybody have any current information on how things are on the Dawn?

Saw it as well on a Group page for a future sailing in the Dawn. We leave on the 9th November someone is posting that there was a rogue wave and it damaged windows on floors 4,5,6 and posted video of water pouring into casino from ceiling.

That type damage did occur back in about '05 I think.  Maybe it is relating to that incident.

Yeah, the likelihood of the ship hitting a rogue wave twice is pretty far out.  And as far back as the casino is, this would have been a wave from one side, and the ship would have had to roll significantly from this.  I would say that unless there are a bunch of unhappy campers in the atrium from flooded cabins, that this is a water main break in the overhead of the casino.

I looked at the Dawn webcam several times yesterday, knew she was to be in Charlottetown, but it was sailing in horribly rough waters.  Looked like a washing machine and I knew there were probably lots of sick people aboard.  Have no doubt that the problems reported could have been yesterday.  A site that I view reported 4 ships did not port yesterday due to high winds at Charlottetown. Hopefully everyone is OK.

I am on the same Nov 9 FB group. HQ isn't talking until they get confirmation of the damages, but people are calling them saying they cannot contact people on board. Someone else posted a screen shot of a text thread stating windows on decks 4, 5 & 6 had broken as well as the flood, but were told it would be fixed tomorrow.

Fake news? Tempest in a teapot? Just assume more news to come.

I have a friend on the Dawn right now.  She reported the other day that the seas were extremely rough and that there was a large crash as water poured though the ceiling on the casino.  They actually closed the casino that night.  Haven't heard any updates or about any broken windows.

Hope we get varification from NCL soon. I am sure as bad as the damage appears to be from some reports, all will be fixed and ready for the next group to sail away.

Just one more thing if I may: for all of you who gets pissed because a port is cancelled this should be a lesson. There are reasons why ships do not always follow their original itinerary. I am sure in this case, there was little that could have been done. Things happen, but do remember, when you think the seas look fine or the ship could have docked they can not always.

Hope the ship is back to normal by this weekend and all in ok with the passengers.

I saw the video on FB. Water was pouring into the casino from the ceiling and there was standing water on the floor. The person said they were in the casino (other side) when they heard a 'crash' and water started pouring in. They seemed to think it was pipe that burst between the duty free shop above the casino and the casino ceiling. I have not seen an update but I'm sure they will get it fixed ASAP. They don't want to lose casino revenue.
