Infinity FV or Sky Suite..Opinions?

Upgraded from regular veranda to family veranda on Infinity. Just 2 people but FV became available after final payment so we were able to book one of of them. S1 is now available for $575 more total,  5 day cruise so $115/night.  Will finally be Elite on this cruise so have enough internet. Only “extra” perk would be paid gratuities and upgraded drink pkg since we already had 2 perks. Guessing we’d get a tiny bit more OBC from TA (maybe)

What would you do? Yes, I get it is a personal choice but curious what those with more experience would choose. We were in a Royal Suite (first and likely last but it was such a great price we could not pass it up, bucket list - check - and it was awesome!) on our last cruise. Best perk there was the unlimited dining and of course Dominic! He was awesome!

Back to my question....what would you do?

For us, it's suite all the way.  Sky suite is entry level but comes with a greatly enhanced experienced IMO.  Luminae and MC are great.  If you're just looking a the perks, 1 for 1, then you may want to stick with FV.  But if you're looking for a possible enhancement to the over all experience, then SS for sure.

Just did our first Suite on the Infinity last week.  Cabin was a nice size but would of much rather had a walk in shower than the tall tub you had to step into.  The Butler is ? didn't really see a need for her.  Michael’s Club was a big let down.  Nothing like the Diamond Lounge on royal the same for the Elite hour nothing like the Diamond Lounge.  We get the drink package so having the drinks at either was no big deal for us.  If anything Luminae  makes getting the Suite worth it.  Go to your meals anytime you want no reservations and fantastic food and service.  Order from the either menu the MDR or Luminae or mix from both.

When figuring price differential, you need to consider what the gratuities would have cost you, and whether you would have upgraded to the premium package.  Then do the math.  Size-wise, corner FV's are the absolute best non-suite cabin you can have (although we prefer AQ for Blu).  But when you do all the math, it seems to me this is one time it would be worth it to upgrade to the suite.  Just make sure this suite booking does come with all four perks.  Generally that is the case but I have seen instances where that was not true (not sure if that is recent - it has been awhile since we could afford suites).

Which Sky Suite cabins are open? We were able to get an S1 with an extended balcony (6131) with Go Best for the same price as an S2 and very little more than AQ or CC in November so we decided to go for it and check out the Suite experience. Happy to report back if you'd like!

So, I’m in the minority but I’d keep the FV since you do not need the perks or points.

Great cabin. Save the $575.

I agree.  That corner FV is a better cabin than a SS on Infinity.  Much larger.  Balcony to die for.  If you don't care about eating in Luminae, that is definitely the way to go.

The corner FV balcony is awesome.  We got to enjoy them on two Infinity cruises.  Here is a photo of FV 8166's balcony on New Years Day 2017 as Infinity was sailing around Cape Horn.  One nice thing about this balcony is that it is partially covered from overhead, so you have your choice of sun or shade, or in this case, wet or dry.

Thank you all very much for your thoughts. Since this is a short cruise, DH says he’s just fine eating in the buffet every night so we can be totally casual and donate the $ instead to the casino 😂😂

Totally the right choice for me as I don't value Michael's that much and could do without Luminae.  It sounds like you have it figured out what is important for you.  Aside from the Penthouse Suites, the corner FVs have the best balconies on the ship.  Enjoy!
