SbbquilterUT Posted December 23, 2018 #26 Share Posted December 23, 2018 ABC islands are our favorites - particularly snorkeling in Bonaire. Weather year round is lovely and would generally be below most hurricane paths.
Velvetwater Posted December 24, 2018 #27 Share Posted December 24, 2018 In no particular order: Tallinn, Kotor, Valetta, Punterenas, Singapore and Cairns
cb at sea Posted December 24, 2018 #28 Share Posted December 24, 2018 Hurricanes rarely affect the Southern Caribbean....but should one occur, it can affect your route to and from the S. Carib.....But, just so you know, "hurricane season" only means conditions could be good for storms to form....doesn't mean they will!

ilikeanswers Posted December 25, 2018 #30 Share Posted December 25, 2018 Well my favourite ports were Bay of Virgins Fatu Hiva and Fakarava, but I don't think that is much help to you since that cruise would be beyond your time limit😉. But there are plenty of shorter cruises around the Pacific if you do ever consider the area. The cheaper ones are usually the Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia routes. Also I would second the recommendation for Rappa Nui aka Easter Island. I myself flew there but it ranks as one of my best holidays so any opportunity you get to visit there I would take it. navybankerteacher Posted December 25, 2018 #31 Share Posted December 25, 2018 Given September time frame and 7-9 day duration, you might consider Cunard or Princess from Quebec to New York —- give yourself a couple days to see Quebec pre-cruise. KBS1607 Posted December 25, 2018 #32 Share Posted December 25, 2018 We really liked the ABC islands. Bonaire snorkeling was the best I’ve ever done.
GUT2407 Posted December 25, 2018 #33 Share Posted December 25, 2018 Favourite port to sail out of, Sydney. Faviurite to visit, hard to say really... Hobart port Arthur Picton all make the cut.
navybankerteacher Posted December 25, 2018 #34 Share Posted December 25, 2018 Bayonne, NJ is a great port to leave. Problem is: most cruises leaving there bring you back at the end.
Mike981 Posted December 26, 2018 #35 Share Posted December 26, 2018 Well not because of what I believe the OP is looking for, I was fascinated with the LA port. We left from there and had a large balcony and hung out on it all day watching them sort and move the containers. Just a wonder in logistics. It all comes down to what you are looking for.
OCruisers Posted December 26, 2018 #37 Share Posted December 26, 2018 Let's all keep in mind the OP is looking for a 7-9 day cruise in September ... seems on Carnival to ports in the Caribbean and which Caribbean ports would be best for their next cruise. kaseyj79 Posted January 1, 2019 Author #38 Share Posted January 1, 2019 You guys have really give me so many good ideas. We did book a southern Caribbean cruise for Sept of this year, but we are also looking to take 2 cruises in 2020. One we definitely want to stay in the Caribbean since we will be taking our teenage sons on their first cruise. The second cruise we are looking at places outside of our comfort zone. Has anyone done an Alaskan cruise? We were also looking at the Mexican Riviera. I'm not sure why, but I have zero interest in Hawaii. Eventually we want to hit Europe, but I think that will be a couple of years at this point.
