I've been reading up on our Premier cruise and other cruisers say they hand out cash in the casino and others say it's loaded on your S&S card.  Not sure what to expect.

It depends.  It used to be only cash now it depends so you set up your PIN first and see if it is there.

It's going to vary by ship for a little while.  Just off the Elation 11/5-10 and we got handed cash.  I mentioned this to the casino host and he said that a lot of the ships have moved to the Fun Play option, but it wouldn't be rolled out to every ship for a while.  He didn't say how long, and likely didn't know.

If you are due cash, go to the cashier's desk.  They should ask if you are going to play slots or table games.  For slots, it should be loaded onto your card, and from what others have said it will appear as a second bank from your bank.  So if you have $100, it will say $100 casino cash and $0 S&S bank.  Then as you spin the casino cash will go down and hopefully the S&S bank will go up! :classic_cool:   If you want to play table games, then the cashier will give you the Fun Play chips to use.  Same principle.  You bet with those, and if lucky, you win real chips back.  Hope this helps.

I was on an Ultra cruise last month and for the first time they didn't give cash - instead the $500 was on the S&S card as Free Play.  We didn't have to go to the cashier's desk - which was great!!  I never have a problem spending $500 on a 7 day cruise (lol).  I thought it was an improvement - but if I weren't planning on spending that much in the casino I might feel differently.

Keep in mind that the winnings from the Free Play go into your S&S bank and obviously that can be cashed out - so, you will get something.

I will board Saturday under a casino offer with $50 in Fun Play.  Won't matter to me whether it's cash, chips, or loaded to my card since I play slots as well as Roulette.

And since people are booking Casino offers, I think it's absolutely reasonable for the Casino department to expect people to use their freebies in the casino!  After all, it's not an Excursion $ or Bar Cash or Spa $$ offer, is it?  😋

My premier offer specifically says "$1500 in funplay credits."  I gather that will be loaded onto my card, which is fine with me.  As I (hopefully) win, I will imediately cash the money out of my bank.  Have never gotten an offer with so much casino cash/credits, and look forward to this cruise in January.

My 2 Getaway cruises on Valor out of New Orleans gave $100 cash each time.  My Dealers Choice on Horizon was $50 in S&S casino bank.   I am expecting my $50 on Magic  for Dealers Choice next week will be casino credit but we will see.

I too booked under a casino offer with $1500 in fun play.  Hubbs got an offer for $500 in fun play.  Emailed the casino and they assured me we would both get our fun play($2000!)  Hubbs and I split so I will just give him $500 in cash.  Plus we got a great rate on our suite for a 10 day cruise.  Very happy with this deal and yes, will have NO problem "losing" the casino cash-lol

Just off Victory last week.  The offer we had said Fun Play but when we went to the casino host we were handed cash.

Same with us on our recent premier cruise on the Miracle. Went to the cashier's window and was handed cash.

I was all excited to get $50/pp for play in casino and now I see so many better offers.  How do you get that?  I was researching to book from CCL website.

You put more money into the casino to get the higher offers.  Doesn't necessarily mean you lose more, just that you are betting more.  Accumulating more points on the slots, etc. = more $ in your offers.

Okay, I'm going to ask this one more time.  I guess I am just dumb, but HOW do you get so MUCH fun play $$?  Because you are "big spenders" in the casino?

I wish I knew the answer to this.  I usually get just over 5,000 points on the cruises I take.    I see people with 10-30,000 points or more by the end of a cruise.   I play penny slots - usually $1 a spin, sometimes $2 depending on what machine I am playing.  If I don't cruise for a while (I go on 1-2 CCL cruises a year) the offers seem to include more funplay credits - to entice me back, I guess.

We play the penny slots also, usually 60 cents-$1.20 a pull. DH plays roulette also, but not the big bucks.  We just got off Sunrise and spent a few hundred $ in the casino. Our offer is for $50 in Fun Play.  I realize that it will be ONLY $50 because we only use DH's sign and sale card...oh, well, $50 is $50.  Used to get all kinds of FCC and OBC's and "perks"  but since we reached Diamond a few cruises ago,  we are kind of cut off the list.  But that's for another thread!!!

Most of the larger, newer ships give "Free play" or whatever you want to call it, and your smaller ships give cash. We have been both last year, and the size of the ship seemed to be the deciding factor.

When playing slots, it really does not matter how much money you play, but how long your butt is in the seat playing. I have put $200 in a machine, played $.60- $2.00 per spin, and played the entire week on that $200, and got my 1,500 for free drinks within 2 days. Spend a lot of time in casino, and get $500 in Free play/cash every time. My husband puts the same $200 in, then more, and he gets $100 because he wont continue playing.

One thing we do is use the free play first because you can't cash it in. Requires a little math, but say you sit at a dollar machine and you are going to play $1 a spin. Put $50 in, and spin 50 times. after the 50 spins, cash out. Everything you won will go into your "cash fund" that you can cash out and spend elsewhere. Pretend after 25 spins, you have only hit for $15 and you want to switch machines. $25 will go back to Free play, and the $15 you won will go to your cash amount. We do it this way so we can see exactly how much winnings we get off Carnivals money.

One last note, when playing with Free play, you do not collect points towards free drinks, or if you are on a premier or ultra, you will not earn points towards drawings or slot tournaments. (You now need at least 100 points to be eligible for drawings).
