cruzrman Posted August 17, 2019 #3326 Share Posted August 17, 2019 My understanding is once a bid is accepted it cannot be cancelled. It sounds like your bid was accepted at some point. I’d call and ask for some clarification.

I do not think that the OP meant to say that his or her bid for a JS was accepted but rather that he or she upgraded outside of RoyalUp. When that happened, RoyalUp really should have canceled or expired all of the bids since they were based on upgrading from a balcony, not from a JS. However, the screen which was displayed looks like a bug in the software. Most likely, the developer never considered the possibility that a person would first bid for an upgrade through RoyalUp and then purchase the upgrade outside of RoyalUp. Probably, the bid will never actually be accepted since it is no longer meaningful but one can never be certain what will happen when one encounters an error in the software. I have since upgraded myself to a JS. I don't know if I need to, but now I find no way to cancel that bid. When I click on cancel from my confirmation, I get the following with no way to actually cancel. The other two bids on that sailing to GS and 2-BR GS say "expired." Never got that before. Anyone know if I have to cancel the JS bid? From the RCCL RoyalUp FAQs: You may modify or cancel your offer up until 2 days prior to departure, provided that your offer has not already been accepted by RCI and provided your credit card has not been charged... I understand you are supposed to be able to cancel but it will not let me do it on line. I'll call to see why my other two bids show "expired." lovelife Posted August 17, 2019 #3331 Share Posted August 17, 2019 Update: I called C&A and they advised they cannot cancel the bid. Told me to call Club Royale since it is a casino comp and they can do it. Called Club Royale and got someone in Jamaica who kept reading from a script and putting me on hold as they always do. Said they cannot cancel it and could not tell me why my other two bids for the same sailing now show expired. So surprise, surprise - I got no answer! Wanderista Posted August 17, 2019 #3332 Share Posted August 17, 2019 I have gotten the Royal Up email. I am in an OV GTY on Majesty. (Last time, I stayed in an interior and I'm traveling with friends). The minimums requested are: Owner's Suite: $800 pp Grand Suite: $450 pp Junior Suite: $200 pp Seems pretty cheap. (Yes, I understand those are minimum bids). Part of me is considering the JS but I'm traveling in a group and we plan to be out sight-seeing on two of the five days. Rooms are also currently not a huge deal to me. The cruise still has some empty space due to the Cuba cancellation and probably the assignment of Nassau over CocoCay. I'm looking forward to Nassau because I'm a fan of history, culture and beaches but if they were to add a CocoCay stop for one of the sea days, I'd like that too. Anyway, I have some time to think about it. If my GTY OV is terrible or if I just decide to bid for the JS anyway, I have some options. I just posted this as general information. packedandready Posted August 21, 2019 #3333 Share Posted August 21, 2019 Just submitted a bid. How long is the usual wait before hearing anything? The email said I'd be notified by 24 hours before sailing. Is that usually the case or is it sooner? Will we receive something if it's denied or just not hear anything? We generally get our rejection emails about 24 hours before we sail. Can't say when they send acceptance emails, because we've never had a bid accepted. 1

travelplus Posted August 21, 2019 #3337 Share Posted August 21, 2019 (edited) For my 2ndcruise on the B2B I bid in the high range for an OV and Spacious OV from a standard OV. On my first cruise the Interior GTY has not been assigned so I gave a lower bid on a Standard OV and OV Balcony. If Royal upgrades me to an OV then I'll increase my bid. I'm hoping the GTY status and being that the GTY Inside categories are sold out Royal will have more incentive to upgrade us either comped or for the low bid. As bids are evaluated on an individual basis I assume the GTY would factor in. Royal sees us as happy to pay to get a room and perhaps sell more Interiors at a higher amount for those on a waitlist We are 3 in a room and have Emerald C&A Status. We shall see! From following this thread and posts on other social media sites, usually you are notified the day before if your bid is not accepted. While a few win notifications happen within a couple of days of the bid, most of the wins I've seen posted were anywhere from 30 days out to 3 days before, with a good average around 1 - 2 weeks out. That's just my personal observation....as about half a dozen of us are waiting to hear back, 22 days out from our cruise. ☺️ Edited August 21, 2019 by barbeyg

lovelife Posted August 21, 2019 #3340 Share Posted August 21, 2019 Of the dozen or so bids I have made, only one was accepted - 23 days prior to sailing - Adventure - Junior Suite to Owner's Suite. It was sweet!

Ready2SailAway Posted August 22, 2019 #3345 Share Posted August 22, 2019 (edited) Just checked the RCCL website and it appears that our cruise is completely sold out a month before sailing, yet still shows my RoyalUp bids for GS 1bdrm & OS are pending -and that bidding is still open for JS and GS 2bdrm? Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few days -don't see how RoyalUp can happen when apparently no inventory is available... ...unless that RoyalUp avalanche just occurred today -perhaps I'll get an email tomorrow morning that my bid was accepted or rejected!
