Starry Eyes, Thank you for that bit of advice. The expired GS 1 BR won't let me do anything; rebid, cancel, nothing. The current pending GS 2 BR also has no options to change it, not even cancel it. I'm taking this as a positive sign and hopefully RCI won't sell that suite. I'll let everyone know once I hear definitively, one way or the other.

Oh, I forgot to mention, the suite number to which I was upgraded was not the one showing as available on line the prior day.  So, perhaps somebody else moved up via RoyalUp or perhaps they canceled

Received my notice this morning that my bid was accepted.  We went from a 4D ocean view balcony on deck 8 to a grand suite on deck 9 on Oasis. Total cost is less than half of what it would have cost me to book a grand suite on my own.

That's great!  We are also going to be on Oasis (3/6).  We have an OV Large Balcony right now.  I've bid on a JS and a 1BR GS.  Right now, I've bid about $50 pp over the min bid on the JS - and $60pp over the min bid on the GS.  For the GS it comes to just over 1/3 of the cost if I were to upgrade.

Had you bid on both a JS and a GS?

I forgot if I had asked you but could you have asked for a CL? And did they tell you what the cost would be before they let you know if they had anything or not until after sailing?

I was told they could only go up one cabin cat....and yet on second leg they gave me an OS.  Go figure.

I did ask about the CLS on first leg, but first CS rep told me no, that I could only be upgraded to GS from our JS.

And yes, they told me the cost before sail away.  So I knew going back after sail away what my OBC would be hit with. 😉  Though worked out well, as the refund for missing St. Thomas took care of it.  🙂

Congrats!!  And I think you are on Odyssey as well?  If so..."sea" you on board!  🙂

Though I will probably still be "pending" when we do.  😣

Actually we are on Symphony, but I'll wave if I see you going by!

Good luck on your bid-although it seems you are coming out a little better than winning the bid!

Circling back to my earlier question re: internet and Royal Up:

We are bidding on a Grand Suite, and have already purchased the combination beverage package and VOOM. There’s not really a way to disentangle the promo rate we got on the beverage package with VOOM added, meaning if we won the upgrade early enough it would probably be cost prohibitive to try and cancel/rebook just the beverage package without the discount we received.

If we win the Royal Up bid to a GS, is there a set rate per day the VOOM would be credited back to us onboard by the concierge? Currently I’m seeing VOOM surf and stream running $15.99 in my cruise planner, so is it fair to assume that’s the rate we’d get as a credit per person per day? And am I correct in assuming this would be OBC, and not back to original form of payment?

(Ed. note: I know this is an incredibly obscure scenario, so anyone with experience with this is appreciated)

If my bids still show pending after I board the ship, I am not going to try self upgrade this time at CS desk on Odyssey.  The JS4 seems like a nice cabin, and being a B2B...I think I will leave it as is, so I don't have to move this time on TAD.

Have a fantabulous time on Symphony!  That is another ship I have never been on....enjoy!!  And Congrats again on your great upgrade!  🤗

Due to that entanglement, you'd probably have to cancel the whole package to get any refund - they are unlikely to only refund the just Voom portion, but who knowns, the SL concierge can do anything.

They may give you the VOOM two devices package; I think that is the most likely outcome if you point out that you paid for VOOM for one device and your suite benefit grants you VOOM for one device.

Should you elect to keep the package, I do not think you will receive any credit back on board for the duplicated VOOM as you seem to hope.  If you got such a good deal on the combo package and do not want to give it up despite the suite benefits, that is your call.  I would not keep the combo expecting a partial refund on board; that is a recipe for onboard disappointment.

No I did not bid on the JS, I knew going in that I wanted full suite benefits if I was going to pay any more for this cruise so I didn't even bother with the JS.  I bid on both the GS and OS, 3 days ago my bid was locked on the GS and OS was showing expired.

I thought I read that each person booked in a Sky suite level gets Voom surf/stream. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-are-the-benefits-of-royal-suite-class

If there are two of us, and we both purchased the deluxe beverage package with voom stream, wouldn’t they credit us for the Voom we paid for before the cruise in some capacity?

That’s exactly what I didn’t want to hear… maybe I just need to schmooze the concierge?

Right, but even then the OBC they may provide would probably be minimal - certainly not anywhere near the $16/day Voom planner costs or maybe even lower than the ~$10/day that is built into the combo package.

Biker, who would cancel the combo package and take advantage of the free drinks in the SL.

Not sure what your combo price was but they just had a "up to 35% off"  sale that ended last night.  That sale comes and goes.  I would look for it again and when its offered bag your combo package and just get your drink package.  Dont forget you will also be able to take advantage of the Suite lounge for drinks along with your status drink vouchers.  Bring a couple bottles of wine and you may be good to go.  If you gamble enough in the casino you will eventually get free drinks in there as well.  It all depends on how you want to play your cards!!  Pun intended.

With your suite, you would get a VOOM package for one device and your husband would get a VOOM package for one device; you’d each have your own sign in.

With your combo internet/drink package, you would also to get a VOOM package for one device and your husband would get a VOOM package for one device; again each with their own sign in.

Agreed so far?  So,  as 1+1=2 (for each of you), I would think you would get a VOOM package for two devices and your husband would get a VOOM package for two devices; again, each with your own sign in.  After all, you paid for double VOOM…that would be your double VOOM.  They sell such packages all the time.  It would allow you to have you phone and laptop (or tablet or whatever) connected at the same time.  That’s my opinion.

You got me there...the draw was just too much last week.   That carrot on a stick had me blind sided.  😄

This ship, (Odyssey) though is a bit different.  The SL and CK are not combined.  CK looks to be another version of the layout of Chops, looks nice...but I do like the combo on Oasis series.  Soooo not really much a draw to jump on full suite this time around, plus I really don't like changing cabins at TAD.  For that OS last week, and being right next door to the vacated JS I left behind...was not a bad move.

That’s a lot more internet than we’d want realistically.

Our sailing is in about 20 days, so our best hope would be to get an early upgrade, and also have an opportunity to cancel the beverage and voom combo and rebook under a promo situation. Which isn’t entirely likely. May just play it by ear and see what happens.

I just checked my bids, GS bid is now expired and JS bid is pending and I cannot modify or cancel it. Fingers crossed that means we got it!

This is the first time I’ve bid. How do I pull it up to see the status?

People on my role call on the book of faces started receiving their notices today that they had won their royal up bid. We are still 25 days from sailing. I have never heard of anyone finding out this early. My bid is still locked but I haven't gotten anything yet and my card has not been charged. As of this afternoon their were still 8 grand suites available for my sailing.

Same with my Feb 6 booking.  Some interior people have already been notified that their balcony bids have been accepted.  We are in a grand suite, and our 4 bids are still pending and editable.

Click on the "Modify/Cancel" link in the "We received your RoyalUP request" email they sent you after you placed your bid. That's how I check. You can also click on the link in the original "Upgrade you room" RoyalUP email.

I sail on Symphony Jan 8 and my bid was accepted today, going from a casino comped balcony to a 1 br grand suite for 800/pp. A few days after the initial bid, the jr suite I also bid on turned to expired, and the grand suite bid showed pending without the ability to modify. I had read on here that it likely was going to be accepted so I was hopeful, and it seems to have been true for me. 11 days prior to sailing and I wasn't expecting to hear back this early, but since they halted all new bookings I guess there's no reason for them not to.

Hi hope you enjoyed your cruise. Question: since you went from a comped balcony to a suite did you still get all the suite perks, including internet etc?

You get all the perks EXCEPT the extra point for being in a suite.  The on-board experience is the same, just not the CAS points.

May I ask which category stateroom you bid on? Was it $30 per person?

Yeah, 30 prr person. 60 total. It was interior to Ocean View. I'm not very picky and on a short cruise (this is 5 days) the interior is perfectly fine for me, I'd rather spend the money elsewhere so just for kicks I put in the minimum bid and it was accepted after like 3 weeks of it pending haha

Thank you for your response. I had a comped OV on Mariner and received an offer to bid, but only into the balcony category, which I did. Since then I switched my booking to a comped balcony on the Harmony 2/20/2022 and canceled my bids on the Mariner. I’m hoping to receive a Royal Up offer to bid on suites on the Harmony since it’s within 30 days of sailing. Apparently I need to wait for them to update their info, because when I go to the Royal Up site and put in my booking number it is still offering bids on the Mariner not the Harmony. I emailed them so let’s see if they get back to me. Not holding my breath

Thanks for your reply. I had several minimum bids from OV to bigger rooms or balconies on the Mariner but since then I’ve switched my booking to the Harmony. I’m waiting to see if Royal Up sends me a new offer to bid. Since I’m in a balcony I think the offer would be to bid into the suite class. I just wanted to see if minimum bids are being accepted. Depending on what the minimum is, I might put in a bid, knowing it is a long shot
