What is it that you love about celebrity?

I’m sailing (equinox) after the current celebrity sale is over, and it’s first time on X (have been on HA and carnival).  I want to book Celebrity for next year with this great sale going on (never seen one this good!) but its a toss up between the HA ship I’ve been on and like and a new one to me (Summit). Both are about the same size - I don’t mind a smaller ship.

if you’re loyal to Celebrity, why are you?

The Equinox is a beautiful, elegant ship.   The crew is outstanding and helpful,  and they constantly cleaning it.   I love the rolled cloth towels and the fresh orchids in the bathrooms.   I love that, while people are drinking and having fun, it is not a drunken party ship.   I really enjoy the food, especially in the MDR.  The rooms are very nice, and the bathrooms are large (for a cruise ship bathroom.)   There have been less than 10 kids on our two sailings last year,  and that is a big plus for me.   There are no lines for anything, also a plus, and even with 2850 passengers onboard it never feels crowded.  Celebrity is definitely the right fit for me.

In one word, FUN! We have so much fun when we're on a Celebrity cruise whereas on HAL these past few years, their sea day offerings have just gotten fewer and fewer and their evening production shows have been pretty mediocre. With Celebrity, there are plenty of fun things to do on sea days and their evening shows are fantastic!

Getting a glass of champagne when you board is a great way to start a cruise, recently have been cruising suites and celebrity has best suite perks micheals and luminae are great , hal gives you almost no suite perks , rccl is good but not as good as celebrity.

Agree with all of the above and also love the laid back atmosphere in the solarium. Know that they are trying to also attract some younger crowds, but miss the classical string quartets and an occasional barbershop quartet. But I can enjoy some nice guitar music instead; and Celebrity is still my favorite cruise line. Although I will probably use Princess for our next Alaskan cruise due to the differences in itineraries.

We love Celebrity.  And agree with above comments, starting the cruise with a welcome glass of champagne is awesome.  We also appreciate the low number of children.  It never feels crowded.  And agree with the comments above it's always being cleaned.  Very rarely was I on the stairs when someone wasn't cleaning the hand rail.  The food and drinks are very good. The service is excellent and the staff is friendly and happy!

I book Aqua rooms.  Generally its on floors with 2 people to a room.  Persian garden access is so relaxing.  I like  Celebrity because it is low key without being too boring or too loud.  It's the perfect balance IMO.  Also I love the itineraries.  I have tried Most cruise lines (not HAL). and always gravitate back.  Cheers!

Love not having formal nights anymore.  My husband particularly likes not having to wear a suit for dinner and just wear a nice shirt and pants.

To be honest - we’re like this too! I’m not one to dress up.  They don’t have formal night?  I thought I saw a video where they did....

This is good to know! What we liked most about HAL was the trivia and we liked the comedian most on Carnival.  Does Celebrity have either?

either way, I think we may book the summit (aqua) because of the comments on entertainment. Food is a great plus too (HAL had great food)

We've been on Norwegian, HAL, Carnival, MSC and Celebrity.  We've settled on Celebrity as our "comfort zone", which is Celebrity.  Just did our second cruise with them in Nov/Dec 2018, and now have 2 more booked.  Lots to like, in our opinion:

  • Welcome aboard sparkling (even if not "high end")
  • Few kids on the itineraries we've chosen
  • Very good MDR food
  • Nice wine selections in Classic package, even better on Premium package
  • Cafe al Bacio!!
  • Good shows (generally, some better than others), but a REAL live ship band!
  • Classy, elegant, rather than "gaudy"
  • NO water park, go-kart track, flow-rider, zip line
  • Cold towels and cucumber water when coming back from shore excursions
  • Awesome specialty dining (especially Murano, Lawn Club Grill on Silhouette)
  • Kept very clean, cloth towels in public bathrooms, bathroom attendents

These are just some of the things we appreciate.

On the X cruises we've been on, the CD was the comedian, but they do have guest comedians as well a variety of other entertainers. The production shows usually wow us. Not just "that was a good show", but rather "WOW what a great show!" I will say, though, the shows can be a little loud, but since we're from the "hippy generation", loud is good! In addition the theaters on the S class ships will also wow you when you first walk in them. Not sure about the M class ship theaters yet. We won't cruise on the Infinity, which is much like the Summit, until a little over a year from now.  They also usually average between 2-3 lectures on sea days which is a big positive for us. As far as trivia goes, I'm sure they offer it. We just don't remember as we were too busy doing other things. In any event you're going to have a great time!

No formal nights.  They are now “Evening Chic.”  If you do a search, you will find numerous posts on this topic.  Below is from Celebrity’s website:

The dress code for Evening Chic is as follows:

Women should feel comfortable wearing:

  • A cocktail dress
  • Skirt, pants, or designer jeans with an elegant top

Men should feel comfortable wearing:

  • Pants or designer jeans with a dress shirt, button-down shirt, or sweater
  • Optional sport coat or blazer

This leaves lots of opportunities for you to show off your personal style, whether that’s designer denim and a blazer or a cocktail dress and heels.

Depending on the length of your cruise you’ll likely have up to two Evening Chic nights.

We are a couple who are 30 and we live celebrity. We used to do royal however we booked the solstice for the itinerary a few years ago with my parents and we’ve not looked back. I feel they are the happy medium not as many children and higher standard than royal, my parents also cruise Cunard but they say it’s nice to not be as dressy every evening. We always sail aqua or suite and like everyone has said the perks are far in front than any other cruise line.

Weve just come back from a Xmas and new year cruise in the constellation it’s lovely to have your own restaurant wether it be blu or luminarie, breakfast without getting buffet eyes is great!!

The little touches like remembering your preferences with drinks at the bar, ice towels when coming back into the ship, detailed morning announcements, all make us return to celebrity. So much so we have our next three cruises all booked with them!

We love the elegance and upscale feel of Celebrity.  No monster water slides, rock walls, skating rinks.  Fewer young children.  Good food and excellent service.  No smoking indoors, including the casino!!!!!  We also sail Princess and HAL, but Celebrity is always our first choice.  We also love the perks we get with our loyalty level.  No need to buy a bev package and free laundry!!!
