My strategy is book onboard this weekend, get the $600 OBC, and transfer existing deposit to another ship.

Good idea

It has now appeared on the German Sea Scanning site. Makes it easier to see whats available

I currently have the booked A2 on deck 9. There is an A1 still available for $200 additional.

It comes from both ways - Want to add... Since  there is some Pinnacle bashing, on our last cruise we  were in the early off priority waiting area ( Full suite, and D and above C&A) .  A  group of 10 or more folks came in late and just went to the front  of the waiting areas and put their luggage  before those who had been sitting and waiting ( like us) for 30 minutes.   Lady  sitting next to me remarked in a nasty tone, "they must be the Pinnacles who think they can get in front of everyone"    As  we knew of most of the  few Pinnacles on the  cruise, we knew they were line crashers and not Pinnacles. It was assumed that those exhibiting bad behavior were Pinnacle.

That's just sad.  Profiling.

In PC, the B2B passengers board ahead of the Pins.  You will always see a few newly boarding Pins working their way to the front of that group.

I call it the Pinnacle Creep

LOL...it's like the SL transfer to CK at 5:30.  We call it the "Pinnacle March".  😉

My situation was waiting to get off not get on.  The past few B2b at PC, the B2B were in a segregated area and were escorted on prior to any group called. Since we were in segregated area, so no “creep”.

Oh, I know what you mean. But they still try and sneak in there.  Did a ton of consecutive cruises in 2017 on Oasis.  Both pre and post Pinnacle

Why do some folks here on CC refer to Pinaccles like they are some sort of race or nationality or socioeconomic class?  They are all just people like most of us who enjoy cruising but perhaps have done it more often.  Who cares if some of them wear their emblems?  I have sailed with first time cruisers all the way through Pinnacles, or Zeniths on Celebrity. We are all called passengers.  I meet nice people and kind people and rude people and self-entitled people everywhere everyday.  No different mix on cruise ships as far as I can decipher.

John, I don't know which cruise you are considering doing this...but...if Laura has a "free" Prime cruise coming up in April and the cruise you are wanting to upgrade qualifies (no holidays, not more than 8 days), you might want to consider repricing your A2 cruise with the "free" cruise and upgrading to A1.  It sure saves a bundle when you're doing Star Class.

About 400 sqft between the deck and the cabin. I know it's silly with just two people, but I want to do a birthday party for Laura

There is a BIG difference in the size of the A2 and A1.  I WAAAY prefer the A1 to the A2.  The A2 does not have the "bump out" area in the bedroom and the living area.  I think you're making a good choice....especially if you can get it for only $200 more.  Well worth it, IMO. We just use the second BR for luggage storage, LOL.  It's a nice way to cruise.

12 day Allure TA in 2020, but thanks for the advice.  We're hoping to use the next Prime cruise for the 50th birthday Bash

Many and hopefully not most of the pinnacles are just having this status because as mentioned before they figured that life in a inside cabin is cheaper than living at home. hence no one needs to look up to them rather they up to the paying suite passenger. Instead of taking away seats from guests that finance them they should feel embarrassed and leave the SL and costal kitchen and for once go and pay for a drink...instead of complaining for onboard credit
