Rare hcat Posted January 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2019 EDGE boarding day lunch. We are not suite or Concierge guests. Looking for lunch, options ( free or fee) for boarding day. Is the buffet crowded? Anything special there on Day One? What about EDEN cafe, outdoor burger grill, Bistro Cafe, Solarium Cafe ??? Is the free sandwich place in the Grand Plaza gone.? jelayne Posted January 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2019 Buffet wasn’t crowded when we boarded. Since we had uploaded photos during online check-in we had our express pass scanned at 3 or 4 spots and went from tge terminal to our cabin where your sea pass cards are waiting. You can drop your carry on luggage and, if your room isn’t ready go explore. This is solves the problem of all the carryons in tge buffer. Mast Grill and Spa Cafe we’re open on boarding. I didn’t look to see if Eden was open. The Grand Plaza light meal spot was not open at all. I believe it is totally closed. Le Bistro May have been open, there is a charge for items from there. Rare hcat Posted January 24, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted January 24, 2019 Thanks...can you get there without walking on the pool deck? A quick burger is all we need...and it seems they now have expanded seating in that area. Also seems Sunset Bar acess requires a walk through the Rooftop Garden,??? Our Sunday sailaway is set for the Sunset bar, but looks like bad weather may require moving into EDEN..

shipshapertoo Posted January 27, 2019 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2019 Was on Jan. 13 Edge sailing. On embark day went to Bistro Cafe for lunch right after boarding and dropping off carryons in cabin. Cost is $20 per person and you can have any and all from the menu. Had the lobster bisque soup, a croissant, short ribs and apple tartine with cappuccino for dessert. Absolutely delicious and worth every penny. Charming atmosphere, French music recordings played in background.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted January 27, 2019 #11 Share Posted January 27, 2019 We are food snobs [ok, I am a food snob; DW not as much] and will only book suites to dine in Luminae. But for lunch, even on sea days, we prefer the Ocean View Cafe. The range of items is terrific, and we gravitate to the Indian and Thai, carving station, and salad islands. [Never a burger, because even the Luminae burger can't match what I cook at home on the barbie ]
