emoorehead Posted February 22, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2019 I have read on Carnival's site about how great their bedding is. I'm not saying it isn't great, but of course they aren't going to say it's awful......KWIM? So my question is.....what are the pillows like on Carnival ships? Are they really small and mushy like some hotel room pillows can be? Are they overly firm? I am trying to decide if i should bring my own pillow from home. Thanks!! Anyislandwilldo Posted February 22, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2019 The pillows are kind of in between. They are not ultra firm or extra cushy. I think they are just slightly larger than a standard pillow. If you are comfortable with your pillow from home, bring it along.
grantbob Posted February 22, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2019 Not overly firm but not as thick as I like but We have always been able to get extra pillows from our room steward to make it comfortable.

audcc77 Posted February 23, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2019 I use a special expensive pillow at home as I have neck issues. I am buying some carnival king size pillows for myself for Christmas. We must have have had some brand new ones in the suite we had. They were king size and were great. I’ve always thought carnival pillows were nice but these were exceptionally nice.

Aplmac Posted February 23, 2019 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2019 All Carnival beds I've ever slept in are nothing short of delicious, and hard to get out of bed they're so nice and comfy!! See those odd little pillows? We often travel with ours - they go between knees and suchlike. .
Dets_Girl Posted February 23, 2019 #9 Share Posted February 23, 2019 They are a bit soft for me - we always pack our pillows from home.

After your purchase from mypillow.com you will never leave home without it. They even offer a travel sized pillow. Also, consider purchasing a self sealing bag that will expel all the air when sealing. It compacts the pillow to save on size for your luggage.
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted February 23, 2019 #11 Share Posted February 23, 2019 We just got off the Elation which had a dry dock last year and has the new updated pillows, I loved them and I never really like pillows on ships.
shellster1 Posted February 23, 2019 #12 Share Posted February 23, 2019 I feel like the pillows are just a bit too firm. That said, I have had neck surgery in the past and need a pillow my head will sink into to keep my spine aligned. I always travel with my own pillow. I sleep well on their beds though! coevan Posted February 25, 2019 #15 Share Posted February 25, 2019 The motion of the ocean lets us sleep like babies. We almost slept through a 9am room service knock on the door.
BENHANDEL Posted February 25, 2019 #16 Share Posted February 25, 2019 I found the bed on horizon to be way too firm to be comfortable for me. But the bedding was wonderful. If was that super soft smooth cotton that is cool the touch but not satin-y. The comforter had the perfect amount of fluff. The pillows were a nice combo of firm and fluffy, but small for my liking. atakkat Posted February 25, 2019 #17 Share Posted February 25, 2019 The pillows were fine for me. I actually had them switch of the duvet for a blanket as it was too warm for me.
13cheermom Posted February 25, 2019 #18 Share Posted February 25, 2019 We've had mixed feelings about the beds, some ships super comfy and others a little too firm. If too firm just ask them to put an extra duvet cover on top like a mattress topper (works perfectly). As far as the pillows, we have the my pillow brand at home and love them. The ones on our last cruise (Breeze) reminds me of that type and we also ask for extra pillows first day. The bed looks a little crowded with the 6 pillows but that way we can adjust them as needed. My husband noticed last cruise also that one set was soft and one set was firmer. The only thing is they are a shorter pillow in length and hard to get used to if you have king-size bedding at home, lol. But your on vacation so we just enjoy 😁. ProgRockCruiser Posted February 25, 2019 #19 Share Posted February 25, 2019 I can sleep on concrete, so I am not the best person to get an opinion from. But, I do find the pillows and bed in general to be quite comfy, on par with "normal" hotel bedding like Holiday Inns, Comfort Inns, etc.
