Suite Perks: Daily delivery of delectable delights

I'm new to suite class on Celebrity. The suite perks show that Signature suites and above receive "Daily delivery of delectable delights."

  1. What is this?
  2. Is it different from the afternoon delivery of snacks in Concierge Class or Aqua Class?
  3. What about Sky Suites: do they get any afternoon snacks delivered to the cabin?
  4. Can you specify what you want, like cheese and crackers or a shrimp plate?
  5. Does it vary by level of cabin or suite?

Thanks in advance.

As mentioned by Cruisestitch your butler can serve both Small Bits and Afternoon tea in you suite.  The default is you will have Tea in Michael's but if you choose they will bring it to your room instead.    The small bits are similar to the things you describe above in other classes.   We usually ask or butler to skip them.   If you wish cheese and crackers or Shrimp all you have to do is ask you butler and he will make it happen.

The butler can deliver the afternoon canapés but they encourage you to go to Michael’s Club or the Retreat for them.

We always sail in a RS and the butler has never encouraged us to go to Michal's.

We always ask that they do not bring any small bits to the room in the afternoon.  With three meals a day, that LAST thing we need is more food.....  We do sometimes request tea in the afternoon and when they bring it, they will usually bring a scone or cookie.....

Did not see any canapés in micheals on March cruise on infinity

If they are not sure what time you will be in the room they are (understandably) not keen to leave perishable items to go rancid waiting on your return. If you are in the room they will bring a selection to you.  Or if you just say you want it then they will leave it for you.

You can tell your butler what time you would like items delivered - and what specifically you would like.   As far as I am aware you can more or less choose -although I think if you asked for a shrimp plate every day they might balk.  We are quite specific about which sandwiches / nibbles / cookies we would prefer.  They are not always available - and that is not a problem.  But I don't want them leaving food which will go to waste(even if this is a small amount in the general ocean of cruise ship food waste...)

We cruise RS too... the afternoon tea choice is better in Michael's and I would be very happy for the butler to make that observation so that I could have that choice.  I would not consider that being encouraged to go to Michael's.

A couple of years ago they stopped the cart delivering afternoon tea, canapes, treats.  At that time they started serving the tea canapes in Michaels Club between 3 - 4:30.  Most of the butlers are in MC during that time to serve the guests.  When we have wanted cheese and crackers, shrimp or another snacks delivered to our suite  have had to have them before or after  the butlers finish at MC.

Recently we were in a RS and wanted a cheese plate about 3:45.  We called our butler whose phone was routing to another butler (ours was working in MC).  The other butler told us he would pass the message to our butler who would take care of getting the cheese plate and we should expect it about 4:45-5 or we could call Room Service.   No problem for us we were happy to call RS until we called and RS informed us that since we were in a suite all orders had to go through our butler!

Apparently Room Service realized we were in a catch 22 and about 10 minutes another butler (not the one who was covering for our butler) delivered a cheese plate and apologized for the request not being handled properly.

Canapés are available, but you have to ask for them. Here is a photo of canapés available recently on the Constellation [link].

They also have fruit plates and smoothies [link].

We were on the Reflection in Jan for 21 days and even though we passed on the daily  cheese, crackers and canapés, our Butler always made sure we had a bowl full of all kinds of fruit every day. We especially liked the grapes, bananas and apples!

We ask for a kettle and tea tray to be set up in our room. Never been a problem anywhere in the world.

We ask for a couple of dainty sandwiches to be delivered at about 4/4.30. First day they always send up far too much food (selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones...) and we have to explain again we only want a taste.

We usually ask for something to be left in the cooler for the evening (shrimp platter, cheese plate).

The set up in Michael’s is very nice and they often have a pianist. However, ‘tea time’ for us tends to be our wake up time after an afternoon rest...We prefer to enjoy on the balcony.

If our butler is not on duty elsewhere he will deliver, if he is on duty another butler will deliver. Our own butler invariably came to clear at about 5pm...A good time to touch base re possible changes to dining, laundry...

Generally only 2 butlers are on duty serving tea in MC.

That may vary by ship.  Last year on the Connie there regularly were 3 at least part of the time.  We don’t spend time there but would stop by to pick up a soda or water.
