What a shame you didn't get to meet up but I hear you did meet other friends and acquaintances.

Enjoy your day in Liverpool MaggieMou: and the remainder of your cruise.

I shall look forward to hearing your views on the call at 'Corner Brook'. We will be there later in the year.

I moved back to our balcony and finished off the Pol Aker before getting ready for Black and White night. We're not usually people who stare at our phones in public places but the poor wifi in our cabin sent us to the Champagne Bar where we had the tasting flights followed by a glass of the rose. We had a lovely view of the coast of Wales from our window seat.

Another good dinner with a slightly different six. One of the couples had eaten in the Coriander speciality on the first night and enjoyed it. The couple that had been with us on the first night were on first sitting but had asked for a change for the first night only.

Our Sommelier hadn't realised it was our last night so Mr HH had to track him down so we could finish our wine.

The captain had told us we would be starting the sail along the Mersey at 10pm to be alongside the 3 Graces at around midnight.

We went to Deck 8 to watch the sail in, I can't help thinking Cunard missed a trick but not having the bar open.

We were actually a bit earlier and Liverpool looked wonderful.

We kept our luggage with us, just time for an Eggs Benedict breakfast and we were off the ship and in our hotel by 9.00 !

Lovely to see Peanut Butter ice cream on the menu, here's hoping they will have some on board QV 😀

I had it at lunchtime yesterday, thank you for the recommendation.

We usually have good WiFi in the QM2 staterooms but our stateroom on Deck 4 seemed to have a dead spot right at the love seat - coffee table area. I've actually booked the same stateroom for next summer so I guess it didn't bother me that much 🙂

WiFi in public areas was rock solid, as you'd expect.

It seems quite device dependent as well, Mr HH has the same brand of phone as I use, he managed to use the wifi in the cabin yesterday morning when I couldn't and he had trouble yesterday evening in the Champagne Bar when mine was working well.

I'm wondering if some Cruise Critic work may have contributed to your low battery, or maybe it's being taken care of by someone else. Either way, I'm very grateful for the work you do on this forum, and hope you continue to have a fantastic voyage!

Thank you, still me !

Hattie, when the QM2 was five she did a nine day tour of the UK (with a stop in Ireland and France), and it was her first call at Liverpool. It was early in the morning but cars were parked on both sides of the river. Just before she got the the pier, she did a graceful 180 and backed into the pier. When the ship did the maneuver the car horns on both side blared in unison. I am sure those on shore will mighty impressed with her graceful turn.  I see that she is facing up river, did you get a chance to enjoy the pirouette?

Lovely to meet you again and interesting to you read your running commentary.   Yes, we were the "guilty" people you met on deck 8 (along with our friend JD-J) and it was lovely to have a catch up.

I am pleased you managed to have breakfast, we didn't wake up in time to do this on both days, after hubby boarding the ship straight after coming off a night shift with only 1hr sleep. Having our first inside cabin may have helped as it was very dark. We didn't need breakfast though as our waiter gave us double portions of main course and dessert on the last night, so we were still very full in the morning. We woke at 0745, showered and were off ship at 0815 to catch the train home and then had to work from home in the afternoon due to lack of annual leave days.

We did manage to stay up on both nights until 1am and got our usual casino fix.   We were on deck 14 (the soft area above the Club cabins) at that time when the ship arrived into Liverpool and it was lovely to get night photos.
