Sorry more newbie questions lol.  

 

1)Where is is the best place to grab lunch on boarding day? I heard  the Lido is where everyone goes and it’s crowded. 

 

2)we have connecting cabins but the balconies don’t connect correct? We are in The Breeze.

 

3) What deck is the one where you can find loungers and the quieter hot tubs? 5?

 

4) Are there any other insider secrets for the Breeze?

There's no need to apologize for asking questions.  That's how we learn before we cruise.

 

1.  Yes, the Lido Deck is the place to go.  There are several areas to eat.  Guys, Lido buffet, (By the way, there are two.  If the first one is full, go further back and there is another identical one.), Pizza, deli, etc.

 

2.  Correct.  The way connecting cabins are laid out, both doors are side by side with the divider in between them.  If you were to open the divider and swing it around to the bulkhead for storage, it would block one of the cabin doors.

 

3.  Honestly, for all of our cruises, the hot tubs were usually full of people.

 

4.  Can't answer this one,  Haven't been on the Breeze.

A trick is to get your food on LIDO and go down to deck 5 to eat, much less crowded. Deck 5 also has some buffet selections, especially for a light breakfast.  Don't forget the specialty restaurant that are free for lunches (Italian and Asian)

4) Are there any other insider secrets for the Breeze? Deck 5 will allow you to circle the ship and tends to be less crowded.

The Italian is full menu at night and a pasta bar in the day.

We try and board after cabins are open so in this way you can go and dump your stuff and get set up a bit.  When you do this you usually get on the ship quite quickly too.  Also we always eat prior to getting on the ship as Lido is a zoo.  Then we eat again too when less crowded.  Lots of options.  Each ship has its less crowded boarding eating places few seem to know about.  We just did Sunrise and few knew you could get included food in the Italian restaurant while boarding. Also few people at Guy's bbq place at embarkation.  All the above really makes the embarkation much more enjoyable.  

 

Can't answer the other Qs as never had connecting cabins nor have we been on the Breeze.

One more regarding cash. How much is good to bring? We prepaid gratuities and are getting the Cheers program. 

 

We we plan on going to casino as well. Can you add money to your sail and sign and cash out in casino to avoid the $6 atm charge?

 

Just to be positive, if you don’t have Cheers and buy drinks... gratuity is already built in?

The pasta bar in the Italian restaurant is the place to go on embarkation day. Less crowded sit down restaurant. It’s up above Lido so most wont make it up there before they start eating. It won’t be until the last couple days that it gets crowded for lunch.

amount of cash is subjective. If you are going to play in the casino, cash is king versus charging to your sail and sign card. typically, there is a charge if you use your sail and sign to gamble.

 

We have taken small bills to give tips.

We always pay for items at port with cash to avoid using credit cards off of US soil. 

 

any other costs on the ship are charged to your account. You can pay down your account with cash if you choose.

1) The Breeze is big enough that Lido isn't too bad but there's also Guy's burgers

Im sorry.. I have another question. I am leaving soon so trying to make sure I understand everything . Disembarking.... I did read I could take my own luggage off . How hard is this? We will be on Deck 11 of the Breeze. 

 

OUr ship docks at 8 am. So I was just wondering how long it takes to get off the ship. I am trying to decide if I want to rent a car since my flight isn't until late afternoon and go get lunch somewhere( disney springs most likely) or if I want to just transfer straight to the airport.

 

I am a nervous flyer so don't like hanging at airports too long.

You can charge your slot gambling to your sign and sail card. We normally do that so we can earn the points on our card when we settle up at the end. There is a small fee to charge cash to your room if you want to play the tables. What we do is sit at a slot machine and add money to our sign and sail card then go to the cage and cash out. Then we use that to play the tables to avoid the fee.

As a semi-local, I would plan on getting lunch somewhere, as long as your flight is 3pm or later, I would not go to the airport more than 2 or 2 1/2 hours early. Orlando is a reasonably easy airport to navigate. From what I've been seeing, you should be off by 10ish even if you're one of the latest off.

Hi, I'm wondering if you can elaborate on this a little bit?  I have a $500 onboard credit, and I'm trying to get the best value out of it.  I was just going to charge our Cheers package once we boarding, but it costs about 10% more than prepaying.  If I can get cash on my card in the casino that seems like the best way to go.

Yes you can get cash off your S&S card by setting up a casino account (same card) and depositing money to it from your S&S card (OBC?) then take a couple of spins on the slot machine (don't forget to do this or it could lead to them blocking you from removing any cash). Then just cash out (it puts the money on your machine into your casino account)... go to the cashier and tell them how much you want to cash out of your casino account and they'll give you the cash.

1) Guy's Pig and Anchor. Its on the outside of Deck 5. No line and easily got a table for lunch on the first day on my last cruise on the Breeze.

2) Its possible to get the dividers opened up permanently, but you can't open and close them

4) If you go to the very front of the ship on one of the spa decks you can get great views coming into the ports without much of a crowd.

Regarding eating at the buffet-

 Carnival has streamlined the check in process enough that if you check in right at 11:30, you should board not long after that. They'll usually start calling the priority passengers between 11:15 and 11:30 and it usually doesn't take long for them to board. Once they're on you should get called shortly after that. If you're on early enough, eating on Lido shouldn't be too bad. We're normally on around that time and get through the buffet line pretty quickly. By the time we're done eating there's usually a crowd. If you decide you want burgers from Guy's, don't let the line intimidate you. It shouldn't be too long when you board and even if it is it moves pretty quick.

The OP said that they have connecting cabins.  The wall where the door is to connect them will also be the wall where the balcony doors are.  Both balcony doors will be side by side.  The divider will be between the two doors.  If the divider is opened, it will block one of the doors and they will no allow it.

In regard to self-debarkation, yes, you can do it.  However, be prepared for crowds and a wait if you want to be off the ship prior to 8.  I was on deck 10, and had to wait 30 minutes for an elevator.  It is supposed to be by deck, but no one pays attention and they get off the ship whenever they feel it is their turn.  We ended up having to go down separately as the elevators were always full.  You will also have to navigate your own luggage through the mass of people trying to get off, as well as the narrow areas of the theater.

 

I would do it again, but now I know what I am up against.

Self Debarkation is Carnival's version of The Hunger Games. Too many people trying to debark with more luggage than they can handle, and all trying to cram the stairwells and get on the elevators at the same time.
