zeppgirl Posted July 31, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2019 Will Norwegian change a person's room for free or is there a fee? Not looking to change categories or people, just rooms...after doing more research it seems some rooms have poles in the rooms and some do not. My room has one and looking to change. zqvol Posted July 31, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2019 Poles? I'm not sure what that is, as I've never seen one in any cabin, but NCL will allow you to swap cabins within your category without penalty. BTW what ship has poles in the cabins? Sand and Seas Posted July 31, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 31, 2019 Sounds like a Haven Spa cabin? Yes, if you are changing within the same category we haven't been charged to change.
zeppgirl Posted July 31, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted July 31, 2019 Getaway haven spa. I had done so much research and missed this until I stumbled upon a cruise critic post about it. Glad it's possible to switch, thanks!

Here's our H5 on the Escape. People seem to make a fuss over them. We never even noticed the pole (except in photos). In the H9s, they are next to the tub, so they are even less conspicuous.

Those hot tubs spas have a lot of water weight on floor decking. A tub with 400 gallon capacity weighs over 1 and half tons - Water at 8 lbs per gallon x 400 = 3200 lbs - more than 1.5 tons. Better have some support or a new feature in cabin water leaks of cascading terraced water falls. Changing room/cabin numbers - change in the same cabin category just call NCL and switch - no fees or other charges - everything else in the reservation stays the same - - - Remember to reprint your Edocs Luggage Tags to reflect the change ! VirginiaIsForCruisers Posted July 31, 2019 #8 Share Posted July 31, 2019 (edited) On the Jade, there are poles in handicapped balcony cabins 9150 and 9650. They are a challenge in the handicapped cabins if you are trying to navigate with a mobility device and have multiple people in the cabin. dznymom Posted July 31, 2019 #9 Share Posted July 31, 2019 Thanks for asking this question, zeppgirl. I have sailed many times on NCL, and never encountered this. Now I know to take it into consideration.

tomk3212 Posted August 1, 2019 #11 Share Posted August 1, 2019 We had one just outside our inside cabin on the Getaway on Deck 13 (can't remember the cabin number offhand). It made entering/exiting the cabin a bit cumbersome but otherwise not a major issue. I can see how it could be, though, if it was right in the middle of your cabin! duckey.l Posted August 1, 2019 #12 Share Posted August 1, 2019 I actually just did this yesterday. I booked an aft cabin deck 14 on the Escape through the NCL website. Then I found a CC post that said other decks had larger balconies . I called NCL and they changed it to an aft cabin on deck 12. She then resent my confirmation with the new cabin listed.
Greyfox50 Posted August 2, 2019 #13 Share Posted August 2, 2019 Im booked on the May 31st sailing on The Encore. I presently have a mini-suite on deck 10, however I decided I rather have a cabin on deck 14 I phoned NCL and was told it would be an extra $30pp to make the change !! Mini-suites on Deck 10 are in a different category than those on deck 14. Hence the charge to make the change.

My suite didn’t have a pole nor the extra chair, table & ottoman. It look like your H5 was larger than mines...probably cause I bid on my suite & it was accepted. Which suite were you in???
