And the way I look at it, that if it works for corporate on one ship,  the rest will follow. What is next?

I I love football as much as the next fanatic but seriously, you're really on a cruise and you have nothing better to do than hang out on this forum and complain?

You're doing it wrong.

How many threads about NFL football do we need here?

The same amount as needed to explain bottled water is not part of the PBP or that you can order multiple apps, sides and desserts but only one side for the SDP or a passport book is NOT required on a closed loop cruise from NYC to Bermuda or another explanation of the Upgrade Advantage Program or what's the best way to get a Vibe Pass or asking about arrival time vs check in time or..........

Wrong again.  I am on my second week on the Jewel and two more to follow.   I love Alaska that is why I cruise it two months each season.   But it would be nice to have three hours on a sea day out of four weeks to enjoy a football game.

meant "but only one entree" (not side) before someone corrects me and misses my point....

We were on the Dawn one time and the 1st game NFL big games was not shown. All hell broke loose. Needless to say they contacted Miami and all of the following games were shown. Ncl has to pay a premium price to show these games.

But they determine what ship is worthy enough to justify the costs.   The Jewel did not qualify this year.   Sailed six week last year including the beginning of footbal last year and we had it.   Once again Del Rio making bottom line decisions instead of hospitality and fair decisions.   I guess the isn't good enough anymore.

It sounds like they also determine it based on customers requesting it. Seems there's not many up in Alaska on your ship that cares. Probably because it's the first week.

Learned on my first cruise not to ever count on seeing a specific thing on TV. If you get what you want yay, otherwise the proposal is on for the 78th time in a 7 day Alaska cruise 🤣.

OP, the cheerleaders will try to convince you that there are better things to do on a cruise. I feel for you as I enjoyed the Cowboys thumping the Giants this afternoon. Somebody in the Miami office dropped the ball. (pun intended)

The same thing happened on a Westbound TA crossing last year in November. The ship had no problem picking up FOXNews & MSNBC but no NFL games. If I wanted to see sports all that was left was cricket and futbol.

On the Jewel now for the first Sunday of NFL football.  Found out that the demographics of this ship didn't warrant a contract for football.   Seems other NCL ships can watch football because those ships are better but not this ship.   Sorry future Jewel cruisers.  Thanks again Del Rio an your penny pinching ways

Sounds like you need to find another cruise line?

FYI, FDR doesn't even come anywhere close to discussing TV content on ships.  FDR doesn't even come close to discussing exactly what's on the products in detail, or even in general in some cases.  He discusses revenue, and broad concepts that maximize revenue, and he looks at cost/revenue/growth/capacity/sales  data custom prepared for him to review,  Andy gets a little closer to detail about the different aspects of the product, but still nowhere near TV content.  VPs and Directors, absolutely.

Just some corporate insight there for ya.

Thank you. I am not just speaking for me but for all us football nuckleheads who like football on a cruise ship.  We cruise for itinerary but a little football on makes it a little better.

You are the perfect cruise passenger for Del Rio.   You understand that the guest will just go with the changes.  Bottom line and changes is more important than customer service.  Loyalty means nothing.  Look at the Latitudes program.   Platinum Plus extra bottle of water.  Yeah

We were on the Sun last month and they didn't show any American sports. Not a single baseball game. not a single football game. It's quite pathetic actually. All that was ever on was Rugby, European Soccer, and some Cricket.

Meanwhile we sailed on MSC and Celebrity recently and they had an abundance of American sports on TV.

I agree.   And Del Rio is just interested in the botton line at the customer expense.  No hospitality experience.  Always a pointer and never a shower.  People in management skills know what I am talking about.

And any future cruisers on the Jewel.   We are being blackball because Del Rio approved a decision to know what we cruisers should watch.  Almost sound like socialism.  Yes I am mad.   Not for me for  all football enthusiast.  But  Del Rio knows what is best for us.

Hey while we are on the beating a dead horse to see if we can get a different response - - -

What about us GOLF lovers and TENNIS - but seriously when I go on a cruise I am more interested

in the travel destinations ports scenic sights.

If I was really a die hard sports fan I would have my video recorders recording all the action for my

review fast forwarding thru all the maddening commercials and crappy play by play action monolog

at a time that does not interfere with an expensive cruise.

If one is that infatuated with NFL football stay at home and binge watch it - the cable satellite TV has

got to be far less expensive than the cruise fare and only getting some of the games.

So back to beating the dead horse are we getting any results - - - - -

Or just maybe a nice friendly letter to Del Rio and he can set up an all inclusive football cruise.

Maybe one of the NCL ships can be converted into a drive-in theatre movie screen over the pool

deck like some of those other cruise lines - grab a blanket - a bucket of popcorn - a beer and go for it !

And in the past posts is it FDR really calling the shots (plays) or is it Andy Stuart or some unappreciated

understudy looking for a higher food chain job ?

Don't be so quick to find fault with FDR !

Football maybe the panacea here in the USA but it is peanuts to the real world football (SOCCER) !

I've never been able to quite figure out the availability of NFL on Norwegian.  A few years back when we boarded in Seattle on a Sunday husband wanted to catch the Seahawks on TV somewhere. We could see the stadium from the room, but none of the ship's bars could tune anything but soccer. Even the cruise director tried. Their satellite feed is definitely international and not just US focused. Later on they did have a different NFL game though.

It is all about Del Rio  and his penny pinching ways.   Never lookimg forward but how to take away.   The true sign of a great  leader.

It's a conspiracy against all American television watching travelers..... why can't we watch "This is Us" or "Grey's Anatomy" or "Big Brother" or "The View"......   and those poor people who cruised during the finale to "Game of Thrones" and couldn't watch it live..... the travesty.

sorry, talk about first world problems especially during a period of devastation and huge loss of life in the Bahamas from Dorian.

Get the internet package and stream your games...... jeepers.
