MARTINI'S

 Share

Recommended Posts

Martini: A cocktail containing Gin, white vermouth, an olive or a lemon twist.

Not a Martini: A cocktail containing anything other than the above.

Having said that, if you shake some orange flavoured vodka and some vanilla flavoured vodka with ice and pour it into a chilled cocktail glass (some call it a Martini glass), it makes a great drink that tastes like a Creamsicle for grown ups.

Bombay Saphire Martini (Dirty)...

I guess they're not considered 'Hard Core' Martinis but you can try the following at the Martini Bar...

Chocolate Martini

Espresso Bean Martini

Black Forrest Martini

Brandy Alexander (Equal Parts Cognac, Dark Creme De Cacao, Heavy Cream shaken and served in Martini Glass with a sprinkle of Nutmeg).

Etc. Etc. Etc....

all of the above

If you get a person that has been on Celebrity a good few years ask for a Almond Joy or an Oatmeal Cookie, they used to be on the menus a few years ago.

Allergic to Gin/juniper berries, so Martinis are Vodka, dirty, with Belvedere.  Other than that, it's a Manhattan.

Although having said that, last cruise, we went to the World Bar, and I had a really good Bourbon cocktail from their menu.  If your ship has the World Bar, it's a great way to try out "craft cocktails."

Enjoy!

Just off Sihouette and I loved the "Umit Special"  (Umit was on the Martini bar when we were on Sihouette in August and had moved to the world class bar by the time we were back on October.  Pineapple Ciroc, jaegermeister and pomegranate juice.  Probably not a martini - but good!

OP, thanks for asking this question! We'll be on the Silhouette in 2 weeks and I'd love to try out new sorta-martini's. On our last cruise we saw a display of at least a dozen vodka bottles. Does anyone know the best vodka available on ship? We have the  premium package.

According to my husband who sampled all the vodkas and scored them out of 10 lol Reyka the Icelandic vodka and Christiana Norwegian were the best on board. He’s now into gins but unfortunately the choice on board is poor. Looks like the gin craze here in UK hasn’t caught on in the US yet!

A Porn Star Martini is nice. Vanilla Vodka, Passion fruit juice with a shot of Prosecco.
