This makes me a little sad. This is the one restaurant I'm looking forward to the most on the Getaway in less than 2 weeks!

Whew! You made me feel a little better. Moderno is the first specialty restaurant we are doing on our Getaway cruise in less than 2 weeks. We've also got Cagney's and Teppenyaki reserved.

I absolutely loved Moderno!

My SO and I don't eat fish, so we haven't been to Ocean Blue...we also haven't been to Le Bistro, but think we're going to try it on our Greek cruise on the Getaway in three months.

For us it was disappointing. The meats were poor and salad bar decent but below what we expected. We really enjoy land based Brazilian Steakhouses and Moderno wasn't even close. If you have never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse then my suggestion is to go to Moderno and enjoy it but then visit a decent land based restaurant (even Fogo de Chao) when you get back.

We were on the Getaway TA Copenhagen to NOLA - 10/20-11/08/19.

Based on our experience, on this cruise on the Getaway 

 

* Cagney’s -  first meal pretty great... not as good as it used to be but still pretty great.

* La Cucina - First meal pretty great… Better than it used to be.

* Le Bistro - first time ever disappointed at Le Bistro.   Both service & quality were extremely off. 

* Moderno’s -  Second best Moderno’s experience we have had. The best was on the TP Jewel 

* Cagney’s – second meal, not as good as the first.

* La Cucina - Final night appetizer & simple pizza… Fantastic

This isn’t really about the restaurants all though I like the reviews!
My question is about bottles of water, do they have a couple liters in the room like most lines and if so how much do they charge? We know there is a water package but don’t really want to spend that much on water. Thought if they have a couple bottles in the room we would buy and refill.

 

We are sailing Getaway 3/8/2020

The Haven is also our Favorite Restaurant on the Getaway! We were in the Haven on both the Getaway and Epic Transatlantic Cruises, within the past year. On our upcoming 10-Day Southern Caribbean on the Epic out of San Juan, we decided to skip the 4 free Specialty Dining Package. It is just not worth the cost of paying their gratuities! Also, got tired of the waiters telling us every time we were handed a menu, you get 1 soup or salad, 1 entrée, and 1 dessert. Since we are both  Platinum Plus Members, we will still get the 2 free Specialty (1-1-1) Dinners, and Dinner with an Officer. The rest of the time we will dining in the Haven.

Oops  --  forgot Ocean Blue...

This was our first time dining in Ocean Blue & we were truly looking forward to  the meal.

However, based on our experience on the Getaway - we would not dine there again.

Don't know if it was an off night - others on our sailing certainly enjoyed it.

Once again - food quality, preparation & service left quite a bit to be desired...

For whatever reason - we had servers disappear, during our meal on this trip in the following restaurants:

They were physically pulled from the floor - while we were there dining...

* Moderno - pulled to meet w/ HR regarding their end of contract package & travel

* Le Bistro - pulled for mandatory training

* Ocean Blue - pulled - end of shift

All 3 of these definitely impacted our meals & service!
