My heart goes out to the Hospital staff, as you are getting hit the hardest. I work in a 10x10 clinic with no ventilation, and all I have right now are surgical masks and gloves, no gowns, and no n95 masks. Today, 2 sick people came in and argued with me about wearing a mask! And you are right, I too feel like walking away, especially when people come in and act like this is no big deal. Besides being an FNP, I am also the caregiver of an elderly parent that has COPD. Sadly, many people will have to find out the hard way, when it hits someone in their own family.

I don't ask people to put a mask on. I tell them. If they object I say, 'I'm not worried if you have something, I do this every day, and worry that I might have something that could kill you.' They always put one on.

Which statecare you located in?

Ohio's Govenor has just shut down all bars and Restaurants for dine-in as of 9:00 p.m.

Restaurants can remain open for carryout/delivery.

Yes, happening here in PA, too.

This will probably become a U S thing. Miami and Fort Lauderdale have closed ALL public beaches.

Flights are so cheap now you can fly for next to nothing . Just priced Spirit to FFL or Vegas and it's $85.00RT for 2. The problem isn't getting there, it's what will one be able to do.

This is all a joke. The airlines are flying around all over the place even now. Unless they shut them down it is all a waste of time. Don't even give the big speeches with a bunch of people standing behind the speaker looking serious and angsty. It is just an insult to our intelligence. The people in charge are safe. As usual. That is all that matters to them.

The point is as I stated the airlines are flying and very cheap flights. The problem/question was does one want to sit around a hotel, Vrbo, AirBnB with nowhere to get something to eat or drink.

The choices are becoming very limited on what to do.

If Fla. is a state that DOESN'T close down Restaurants and Bars, I will probably travel end if April. If the DO there is no point going there.

UK coronavirus crisis 'to last until spring 2021 and could see 7.9m hospitalised'

OK folks, guess this means everyone should stay home in isolation for the next 18 months and then we can go back to normal.

This is not a joke. The domestic air travel ban is coming. Not sure when or for how long, but it is coming. Stay tuned!

My cruise is not until the end of August.  My flights to Rome are non-refundable, so I am going to hold out to the last minute and hope the world is open by then.  If not, then we will have way more problems than losing out on a vacation.

Road trip! Personally I would absolutely not fly right now, because social distancing is impossible and people are getting stranded. We were supposed to sail out of NYC yesterday and it is cancelled, but we are still having a wonderful time. We spent 4 nights in Atlantic City and are now enjoying 5 nights in New York City. The Hilton Garden Inn Times Sq South was $50 tonight! These Manhattan rooms normally cost a fortune - never thought I’d be able to stay right here instead of out in the ‘burbs! If you want something warmer, I recommend Clearwater Beach in Florida - TripAdvisor’s number 1 beach in the US for the past 2 years - it’s in Tampa Bay (note: west coast of Florida - amazing beach sunsets!)

PS - even with all this traveling neither of us has gotten sick. We’re using sanitizer and washing hands a lot

Frankly it’s shocking that’s the one thing that isn’t canceled considering it’s the riskiest thing you can do right now!

I hope you are right, and you will be ok (and that you did not infect anyone else).

It can take up to 14 days to be symptomatic. Also, some physicians believe you can be infectious for up to 37 days (even after recovery).

It's nothing to play around with.

Has it occurred to you that all your traveling at this time, especially NYC, may be harmful to not only you but other people? Do you realize that you may be spreading this virus from state to state?  But, hey, you got a good deal! I don't understand...

Exactly, my community just had it's first confirmed cases. It was a family that was all infected and one person had recently returned from an out of state trip.

Too many people are not listening.  They think that they are so healthy and do the right things so they won't get this virus.  They could care less about other people, no less the world now.  We live in Naples FL.  I can't tell you how many people here are still having their grandchildren come down for spring break. God forbid they disappoint the kiddies.  On TV they interview people at Disney the other day (which is now closed down) saying how their grandkids were so disappointed.  It's crazy.

This is why the governments are stepping in because people don't listen.  JMHO of course!

Here is the problem.  Too many of the people in the 0.2% areas do not care about those in the upper four bars on this graph.  To them, this is just an inconvenience.  To others, it is a death sentence.

Sitting together like Sardines in a can for hours, dealing with dozens of humans at the airport, sounds safe to me!

Vegas & Broadway shows closed, concerts & sports events cancelled/postponed for immediate future.  Casinos in NY, NJ and CT are being order by executive orders of their state's governors in a coordinated move in the tri-state region, in addition to orders for restaurants, bars, night clubs, cafes to close - except for takeouts & deliveries, until further notice (2 weeks or more, probably at least 30 to 60 days ... given the Wuhan/China timeline in combating this highly infectious virus; and how they are slowly recovering & returning to near normal daily lives - down-scaling their measures in full lockdown & closures, etc. over the last 3 months).

https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/coronavirus-blog/2020/03/16/mayor-on-curfew-and-travel-limits-in-nyc--everything-s-on-the-table

Curfews, roads/highway restrictions for essential travel only are possible (it was implemented in the days & weeks after 9/11 - we had to travel daily into Restricted Zone 3 & 2 afterward with National Guards patrolling & guarding the checkpoints.  I hope that we don't need to come to that but I would not be surprised if ordered to; and be prepared to live with that ...

Worst than sitting in that tiny aluminum single-aisle tin can is going thru the airport, TSA check points with long & slow lines (even w Pre-Check) and extra screenings with int'l flights returning to the USA.
