grapau27 Posted January 12, 2023 #41826 Share Posted January 12, 2023 Good evening. It is very windy here at the moment with lots of bins blown over. We spent 11 hours at hospital yesterday while our Sarah was getting emergency CT, x-rays and MRI scans on her back. She was admitted into hospital this morning and the surgeon said he would perform a dangerous operation or give her injections in a week's time so she has opted for the injections. As well as a slipped disc she has Cauda equina syndrome.

Snow Hill Posted January 12, 2023 #41828 Share Posted January 12, 2023 A few hours spent today putting together a flat pack tall floor standing bathroom cabinet, the instructions were clear except they labelled piece, yet there were no equivalent labels on the pieces themselves, so in a few cases had to resort to measuring them to see if the matched the part number. Plus whoever designed those 2 part cupboard hinges has a lot to answer for. 😡 New car day tomorrow, as car is a hybrid, it’s also an automatic, a first for me in 46 years of driving. I was fine on test drive although a few temptations to change gear, plus my wife seems fine driving hers, so I am sure I will get used to it.

I love to drive the automatic cars in America when we visit and would have got an automatic car when I got my new car 7 months ago but there was a long waiting time and my new car was available at the time. Sarah must have been in great pain - and probably quite frightened too. I'm sure everyone on here will join me in sending Sarah our very best wishes for her recovery. Love to you and Pauline too. indiana123 Posted January 12, 2023 #41838 Share Posted January 12, 2023 I hope Sarah gets on ok Graham. Best wishes to her. Since losing our little cat Lexy, the house seemed a bit empty. Time has passed and today we went to the Adoption Centre. You can no longer just arrive and browse You have to register all details on line then they invite you to the Centre where you pick three cats from a folder, they then take you to see just those three. We couldn't decide over two. One absolutely beautiful furry with a gigantic tail, aged 12, then a tiny black one (4 yrs) who has a heart murmur. The furry one was all over us and tried to climb up me, but I turned round and saw these two little eyes from the little ones tent. That did it. We pick Kira up on Saturday, and she will be much loved and we will arrange regular vet check ups for her as they think the murmur may progress over time. I think part of it was that my heart's a bit dodgy too so we will be soul mates!🤣😍 11

Angel57 Posted January 13, 2023 #41844 Share Posted January 13, 2023 So sorry to hear about Sarah, Graham - but it sounds like she is getting good care I know how close the three of you are so I’m sure it has been a very stressful time to see Sarah in pain and distress. Make sure you and Pauline take care of yourselves and best wishes to Sarah. Gill 1

I have driven automatics when I have been working in North America and the only problem I had was nothing to do with it being automatic, it was driving on the left side of the road after months of driving on the right. Strangely I never had a problem when I picked up cars in NA, I was always comfortable driving on the right ❓

My bowels and bladder stopped working and I had so much pain medication I cannot remember everything. I know now I should have been operated on within 24 hours but I was left 6 days, as a result I have drop foot, permanent nerve damage and no reflexes in my left leg. I really hope she gets her operation quickly and she makes a full recovery. I will be thinking about her Michelle 5

Peanut006 Posted January 13, 2023 #41850 Share Posted January 13, 2023 I should have also said Graham I have a friend at the gym who had the same thing who is absolutely fine now. Hopefully Sarah will be fine too. My last post sounded all doom and gloom and it more than likely won’t be Michelle 3
